About the area
Croydon is a largely commercial centre in South London, 9.5 miles from Charing Cross and on the natural transport corridor between London and the South Coast.
It benefits from Tramlink which has its main hub at the railway station. The town centre has excellent shopping, boosted by the massive Whitgift and Centrale Shopping Centres, plus several arts venues, a theatre, restaurants, bars and great night life.
To the south of town are the North Downs and beautiful countryside waiting to be explored.
Shops
Croydon is generally regarded as the second largest shopping centre in the south east, after Central London. It has two large covered shopping centres in the Whitcroft and the Centrale, with plans in place for a large new shopping centre called Park Place.
You'll find all the major high street shops, supermarkets and department stores in Croydon, and if there's anything that's not covered you have the whole of London to explore.
