About the area

Bracknell and its surrounding area has an interesting and varied history, with some fascinating local sites to be visited ranging from an Iron Age Hillfort, to areas of the town centre whose 1950's architecture has gained them Conservation Area status.

Shops

The area provides many amenities, from good leisure and shopping facilities to excellent entertainment venues.

Bracknell town centre offers a totally pedestrianised shopping centre with much undercover shopping around Charles Square, the Broadway and Princess Square.  Many of the main high street retailers can be found here.  There are also superstores located on the fringes of the town and surrounding areas.

Hugely ambitious plans are underway for the redevelopment of Bracknell town centre to make it a better place for shoppers, visitors and retailers.

Transport

Bracknell, is approximately 40 miles west of London, in the heart of the hi-tech M4 corridor providing good road links.  Bracknell's neighbouring towns include Windsor, Maidenhead, Henley, Ascot, Wokingham, Sandhurst and Reading.

Bracknell has two railway stations: Bracknell and Martins Heron on the main line between London's Waterloo station and Reading, originally built by the London and South Western Railway and now operated by South West Trains.  As a consequence of the frequent service on this line, Bracknell is now a major commuter centre with its residents travelling in both directions (westwards to Reading and eastwards to London).
