About the area
This area enjoys historic links right back to King William the Hon when he granted lands to the Bishop of Glasgow Jocelin in 1180. Bishopbriggs has grown from a small rural village to become a desirable residential area that’s popular with commuters due to its central location.
Shops
The Triangle Shopping Centre is at the heart of the main shopping area with the town centre affectionately known as ‘the Village’. A large Morrisons supermarket and a comprehensive range of High Street brands and individual shops and retailers cater for your needs locally. Nearby the Strathkelvin Retail Park is home to B&Q, M&S as well as a host of other out-of-town retailers. Locally there are plenty pubs and restaurants for you to enjoy.

Transport
Bishopbriggs is connected to the M80 corridor at Robroyston, as well as the M8 making it a great central location. The main road through Bishopbriggs is the Kirkintilloch Road (part of A803) connecting to both Glasgow and Falkirk. The railway station is the first stop for trains departing from Glasgow’s Queen Street Station on the Croy line to Stirling and the journey time is approximately 6 minutes. Glasgow International Airport is within easy reach offering short and long haul routes, whilst Cumbernauld Airport services smaller aircraft and helicopters.
Health
Auchinairn Medical Practice (0141 772 1808) and Springfield Medical Practice (0141 772 6416) are within easy reach of the development. Locally Stobhill Hospital offers a range of primary care services, whilst Glasgow Royal Infirmary is the nearest A&E facility.
Leisure
Bishopbriggs boasts a large sports centre known as the’Leisuredome’ offering a fantastic range of facilities including a 25m swimming pool and a range of indoor and outdoor activities. Allen Glen RFC play locally within the West Regional League Division 1, plus there are a variety of football pitches used by local youth football teams and an athletics track in the grounds of Huntershill House. The Campsie Hills are nearby and offer a natural playground of outdoor activities including walking and cycling. Three local golf clubs – Bishopbriggs, Crowwood and Cawdor ensures there’s plenty choice for golfers, whilst Bannatyne’s Health Club in nearby Stepps offers a choice of classes, a well-equipped private gym as well as a swimming pool.
