Whirley Primary School pupils will soon benefit from state of the art gym equipment, thanks in part to a local housebuilder.

The school, located on Whirley Road in Macclesfield, has been looking for donors to help upgrade the equipment in the gym, and called upon Taylor Wimpey as the first donor to help out. The new equipment will be installed in the new year.

Head teacher John Rowan said: “We neighbour the Taylor Wimpey development Jasmine Park, so one of our association members suggested we speak to them about a donation. They were only too happy to oblige and we’re very grateful for their input. We’ll be buying new equipment such as climbing frames, mats and benches for the children. ”

Anthony Mansfield, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey Manchester said: “We are keen to get involved with the local community in the areas we build, especially when it is such a worthy cause. The new gym sounds like it will be great and I hope the children enjoy using the equipment.”

For information about the range of homes available at Jasmine Park, contact the sales team on 0845 071 4633 or call into the development office on Whirley Road, open Thursday to Monday, 11am to 5pm.
