We are very proud to have been crowned large Housebuilder of the Year at the 2012 Housebuilder Awards. In recent years we have won a wide range of awards for our work and developments all over the UK.

Pride in the Job

NHBC's annual Pride in the Job awards is the housebuilding industry's most prestigious awards programme. It is a UK-wide competition dedicated to recognising site managers who achieve the highest standards in housebuilding.

The NHBC (National House-Building Council) is the leading warranty and insurance provider for home builders in the UK. It aims to improve quality in new (and refurbished) homes to protect homeowners. One of the ways NHBC does this is through its Pride in the Job awards scheme, which has been running annually for over 30 years.

There are four stages of awards in five categories - Quality Awards, Seal of Excellence, Regional Awards and Supreme Awards. Taylor Wimpey site managers qualify in the Large Builder category.

Pride in the Job 2013 - Outstanding performance
Sixty eight of our site managers received Quality Awards; 17 of them were shortlisted in the Seal of Excellence Awards and five were named the Regional Winners. One of our site managers was also named amongst the five national Supreme Winners, achieving top industry recognition.

Daren Clark - Supreme Winner - Taylor Wimpey North Midlands
Daren was named the UK’s Supreme Winner in the Large Builder category. He was recognised for achieving the highest standards in all aspects of housebuilding, taking pride in everything from the well-being of his team to the satisfaction of new homeowners as well as quality craftsmanship, judged at every build stage. Since joining the Company, Daren has won 18 Pride in the Job Awards at all levels. Daren said: “I enjoy working with and leading a team of people who want to achieve the best they can and completing homes that we are proud to hand over to our customers. I am extremely proud because it is a great honour to receive an NHBC award, as they are the most prestigious and set the benchmark for the industry.”

Phillip, who is a Site Manager at our Cotton Mills development in Hyde, was named the Regional Winner in NHBC’s annual Pride in the Job awards after beating off 13,000 entrants for the prestigious site management awards. He commented: “Myself and the team at Cotton Mills are delighted to be classified in a list of the top nine developments across the country and this is testament to our commitment in striving for quality.

Nathan Ham - Regional Winner - Taylor Wimpey South Wales
Recognised as the Regional Winner for Wales, Nathan was commended for his site management skills at our Pentref Newydd development in Coity, near Bridgend. Nathan commented: “I am over the moon to have won these awards. It is down to a combined effort from the site team and is a testament to the high standards at the heart of every home we build. Buying a house is a huge investment for anyone to make and we take that very seriously. Seeing the customer’s face when you hand over their new home is so rewarding.”

Jamie Capon - Regional Winner - Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties
Jamie was crowned the Regional Winner for London and the South East for his dedication to delivering new homes of the highest quality at our Lion Park development in Hambrook, West Sussex. Jamie, who embarked on a career in construction 20 years ago when he became an apprentice bricklayer, said: “This means everything to me and the award recognises the hard work and dedication of the team at Lion Park. I get tremendous job satisfaction from creating high-quality homes with my team and receiving positive feedback from customers.”

Steve Cole - Regional Winner - Taylor Wimpey East Anglia
Steve beat off stiff competition to be named the Regional Winner for his work at East Anglia’s NR1 development in Norwich. Commenting on his awards, Steve said: “It was an absolute honour to be recognised by the industry when I received the Quality Award, so I’m overwhelmed to receive the Seal of Excellence award for the entire region. Both of these awards recognise the hard work of the whole team at NR1 who all take great pride in ensuring that the homes we build are completed to the highest possible standards.”
