    We are currently seeking planning permission for a new residential development of up to 188 homes, including 25% affordable housing, on land at Bedworth Road, Bulkington. The development will cater for a variety of housing needs from one bedroom to four-bedroom properties.

    The site measures approximately 6.4 hectares (16 acres) and currently comprises agricultural land that slopes down from the existing residential development off Severn Road and Mill Lane in the east, to the railway line in the west.


    The site has a draft allocation in the emerging Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Plan, which is helping to deliver much-needed housing across the borough. Though the site is currently part of the

    green belt. The council have acknowledged that the site represents a sensible place for new homes in Bulkington.


    Borough Plan


    Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council has prepared a Borough Plan that has recently undergone examination by an independent inspector. The inspector’s report is expected later this Spring and if their recommended changes to the plan are accepted and made by the Council, it is likely that the plan will be adopted in the relatively near future.


    Nuneaton and Bedworth Council’s emerging borough plan identifies the site as suitable for housing development, with the inspector raising no concerns with the site.

    The site is also identified as helping to enhance the linear woodland along the railway line, as well as helping to provide funding for various community facilities, including footpaths and cycleways, and a new children’s play facility.

    We are proposing a residential development of up to 188 homes, served by a new vehicular access and bus-stops, off Bedworth Road, Bulkington. 

    The development will deliver a good mix of both private market and also 25% affordable housing that will cater for a variety of housing needs, ranging from one bedroom to four-bedroom properties, including terraced, semi-detached, detached designs.

    The layout provides scope for an emergency access and pedestrian linkage, off Severn Road.

    It is not proposed to serve the residential development off Mill Lane. In addition to the new homes, it is proposed to offer a large area of open green space around the western and northern parts of the site. This will help to provide local residents with a new pedestrian walkway and cycle path to connect Bedworth Road in the south and Mill Lane in the north-east.
