Diane Hughes (55), a Sales Office Co-Ordinator, has kickstarted her journey to a fresh start with her daughter, a Marketing Executive, after moving into her new Taylor Wimpey home at Riven Stones.

An easy choice

Diane has made the move to Blackburn from Cherry Tree after the passing of her husband. The mother and daughter were looking to downsize after 13 years in their previous home when they came across their chosen three-bedroom Byford home in Riven Stones.

Wanting to stay in the area, Diane looked at all the new build sites around Blackburn and decided on Riven Stones: "The build quality looks great and the development has fantastic views over to Darwen Tower. The plot I reserved was almost ready to move into which suited me as I had sold my house to a first time buyer who wanted to move in quickly. The fact that there were no hidden costs made Taylor Wimpey an easy choice."

The perfect home

Diane was drawn in by the Byford's room layouts: "The size of the garden and bedrooms are perfect for us and the open-plan dining and kitchen area is more sociable than having a separate dining room."

Diane and her daughter moved into their new home in March and has shared her favourite things about her new home and Riven Stones: "We are loving our new home and have settled in well. We have neighbours now too, a lovely family who are really friendly. It is lovely to all move in together and form our own little community. The surrounding area is gorgeous with some beautiful walks. I love sitting in the garden and listening to the sheep in the fields nearby."
