    Latest News

We welcome new residents to the growing community at Mayberry Place

Following the recent launch of a new phase of homes at Mayberry Place, we are pleased to have welcomed even more residents to this growing community. A total of 16 new homes in the latest phase have already been moved into and we are delighted to see everyone settling into life at Mayberry Place.

There is plenty of opportunity for first time buyers, young couples, families - and everyone in between - to get to know each other while out and about on their way to school, work, or on day trips to nearby Aylesbury.

Jack Costello, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey North Thames, said: “Mayberry Place is a great place for young professionals, couples and families to make their home. The community here is really starting to grow here and it’s great to see more and more new residents moving in and getting to know each other.”

Second Taylor Wimpey home for happy customers Kim and Lee

When Kim and Lee Evans began house-hunting in Buckinghamshire, they knew that the spacious new-build property of their dreams would have to be a Taylor Wimpey home – and our Mayberry Place development was the perfect location.

    Mayberry Place case study

The couple moved from their previous two-bedroom coach house at our nearby New Berry Vale development in Aylesbury to their brand new three-bedroom ‘Dunton’ housetype at Mayberry Place in March this year.

While the pair were very happy in their previous Taylor Wimpey property, Kim and Lee felt that it was the right time to upsize their home for a property with more outdoor space.

Kim (35) says: “We wanted to move to a larger property and were yearning for our own garden so we could have BBQs and gatherings in the summer.

“We were so impressed with the quality of our old Taylor Wimpey property that we decided to buy a new one and move to another development – we both love the community atmosphere at Taylor Wimpey developments.”

Kim, a Financial Analyst at the Ministry of Defence, and Lee (47), a Health and Safety Officer for Warburtons, knew that with the help of our dedicated sales team at Mayberry Place, the moving process would be seamless.

“We’d experienced buying a new-build home with Taylor Wimpey before, so we knew we would be looked after by everyone,” continues Kim.

“The whole moving experience has been straightforward and very easy – everyone at Taylor Wimpey has been fantastic.

“Their customer service is second to none – everyone is incredibly open, friendly, and has immediately helped with every question we’ve asked.”

The couple have been particularly impressed with how our Sales Executives have been by their side throughout every stage of moving.

Kim explains: “We really enjoyed talking with Bryony, the Sales Executive, about the interior Options available. Even though we knew what to expect, she made all the details really clear – from the high specification upgrades to the dates we had to pick certain samples by – she told us everything clearly and ensured that we were taken care of.

“Bryony provided us with a lot of support throughout the moving process as well as after we’d settled in our house – in fact we still pop in and see her now for a coffee and a chat!

“It’s reassuring to know that the Taylor Wimpey staff are nearby if we need them, Bryony and the team are as much a part of the community at Mayberry Place as the homeowners are!”

Taylor Tiger helps Woburn Safari Park raise funds for conservation projects in the wild

Our tiger mascot Taylor Tiger joined forces with his mascot colleagues, Tala from Woburn Safari Park and Welford from Leicester Tigers Rugby Club, at a charity weekend to help raise funds for endangered tigers in the wild.

Taylor Tiger joined forces with his mascot colleague Tala from Woburn Safari Park to help raise funds for endangered tigers in the wild.

The three mascots attended a special charity event at Woburn Safari Park to support the Amur Leopard and Tiger Alliance’s Amur Tiger Conservation Project.

Taylor Wimpey North Thames’ support for the event is part of an ongoing partnership with Woburn which earlier this year saw the leading local housebuilder renew its sponsorship of the safari park’s Amur tiger house for the next three years.

Peter Gurr, Managing Director for Taylor Wimpey North Thames, says: “We were delighted to support the Amur Tiger Charity Weekend at Woburn.

“The event raised vital funds for the Amur Tiger Conservation Project as well as awareness of this beautiful species – and it was great fun for all the visitors to the park!”

Drew Mullin, General Manager of Woburn Safari Park says: “Everyone involved in the fundraising had a fantastic time. Tala and her new friends; Welford and Taylor, all helped put the fun into fundraising! The initial count of monies shows we’ll have raised significant funds for the ALTA charity.”

Partnership with Woburn Safari Park is a roaring success

We’ve teamed up with Woburn Safari Park for the second year in a row to sponsor its grrreat Amur tiger house!

Last year, we launched a pioneering partnership project with Woburn Safari Park to sponsor its (then) new tiger house, which is now home to four Amur tigers from the European Endangered Species Program (EEP).

Following the roaring success of that partnership, we have offered our support again by renewing our sponsorship of the tiger enclosure for the next three years.

Peter Gurr, Managing Director for Taylor Wimpey North Thames, says: “Our sponsorship of the Amur tiger house at Woburn Safari Park was the first corporate deal of its kind. It proved to be a huge success in helping to raise awareness about these beautiful animals, which is why we are delighted to be renewing our partnership with the park for the next three years.

“We hope our investment will continue to aid conservation of the species and that the tigers will breed successfully and nurture future generations.”

There are only an estimated 400 to 500 Amur tigers living in the wild, in the birch forests of Eastern Russia. They face a number of threats, mainly poaching and loss of habitat, and the EEP is playing an important role in trying to preserve the species and prevent its extinction.

Woburn Safari Park Commercial Manager, Claire Rhodes, says: “The team at Woburn Safari Park is thrilled to extend the unique corporate partnership with Taylor Wimpey for three more years.  Not only do the tigers who reside at the park benefit, but the endangered Amur tigers in the wild will also benefit from the message of their plight being shared with new generations of supporters.

“Taylor Wimpey has been actively spreading the word about this beautiful, threatened animal and helping Woburn Safari Park to fulfil its aims of educating new audiences about the importance of fundraising and conservation.”

Lindsay and Ashley buy dream home using Help to Buy

Lindsay Dow and her partner Ashley were finding it difficult to get their feet on the property ladder – until they learnt about the Help to Buy scheme.

Taylor Wimpey - Oakbrook - Lindsay Dow (2)

Lindsay Dow used the Help to Buy scheme to purchase a home at our Oakbrook development in Newton Leys.

The couple discovered how Help to Buy meant they could secure a Government loan for up to 20% of the full price of their new home – so they would only need a 75% loan-to-value mortgage and a deposit as low as 5%.

“We were each living with our parents and were really struggling to afford to get on to the property ladder together,” explains Lindsay (25). “But Ashley’s uncle suggested we looked into new builds because there were some great incentives to be had.

“So we did some research and ended up using Help to Buy which was a great option – the 5% deposit really opened up the market to us, otherwise the door would have remained closed.”

The couple purchased a two-bedroom first-floor flat at our Oakbrook development in Newton Leys, near Milton Keynes, reserving it off-plan in April 2014 before moving in that December.

Speaking about the homebuying process Lindsay adds: “Being self-employed there was a bit of a delay in getting my paperwork details from HMRC – but Taylor Wimpey were really good and understanding throughout the process and kept us informed about the building of the property along the way.”

The search is over for Lena and Steve as they find their dream home at Mayberry Place!

After a year of searching for their dream home in Aylesbury, Lena and Steve Wallin were beginning to think they might never find their perfect property – that is until they discovered our fabulous Mayberry Place development!

Mayberry Place - Lena and Steve Wallin

Steve and Lena Wallin are enjoying their new home at Mayberry Place

The couple were living in a two-bedroom apartment in the town and longed to buy a larger home but their hunt to find their ideal house proved more difficult than they initially thought.

Lena (24) says: “We wanted a home with enough space for us to grow into and we wanted to stay in Aylesbury.

“We had been looking for about a year and had visited just about every development in the town. To be honest we thought we’d never find somewhere we could afford.

“But then we went to Mayberry Place and from that very first visit I was 100% sure I wanted to buy there. It is the nicest development in the area by far and it has an elite-like status above the rest.

“We viewed the three-bedroom ‘Dunton’ showhome and we were just absolutely bowled over – it had the wow factor!”

Lena and Steve (26) were so impressed that they reserved their very own ‘Dunton’ plot within a week of their initial visit.

Since they reserved off-plan, the couple were also able to take full advantage of our extensive interior Options range.

Lena says: “There was a really good variety of Options to choose from and we had plenty of time to go through them – we were never rushed.

“We chose to upgrade the kitchen and added tiles for the downstairs floor. We also added integrated appliances and little extras like a towel rail and toothbrush holder in the bathroom.”

Lena and Steve moved into their brand new home in November and have already added a new addition to their family – a sprocker puppy called Molly!

“We absolutely love living here and I couldn’t imagine living anywhere else now,” says Lena. “We have settled in really well and we get on great with all of our neighbours. Our puppy Molly loves it here too and there are plenty of places to take her for a walk.

“My favourite rooms in the house are the kitchen and our en-suite master bedroom up on the top floor – it is such a light and airy space and is the perfect place to escape, especially when Steve is watching the football downstairs!”

Speaking about their homebuying experience, Lena adds: “We want to say a big thank-you to Bryony and Roxy in the sales office who have been very helpful and were always happy to explain everything to us.”

Families go wild for tiger hunt at Mayberry Place!

Mayberry Place - Find the tiger event winners

Visitors enjoyed our Find the Tiger event

A family-friendly Find The Tiger event held at our development was a roaring success.

Children hunted out soft toy tigers hidden around the showhome in the hope of winning a day out at Woburn Safari Park and got to meet Taylor Wimpey’s mascot, Taylor Tiger, during the event.

The Find the Tiger event was being held to celebrate a pioneering sponsorship agreement between Woburn Safari Park and Taylor Wimpey North Thames, which helped to fund a new tiger enclosure and shelter for Woburn’s two Amur tigers, Elton and Minerva.

Christine Scarborough, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey North Thames says: “Our Find the Tiger event was a brilliant way raise to awareness of our unique sponsorship deal with Woburn, which has delivered a wonderful new home for tigers Elton and Minerva.

“It was great to see so many people join us at Mayberry Place, and congratulations to the lucky ones who scooped a ticket to the safari park which is a fantastic day out for the whole family.”

New Play Area Coming Soon called Marston Green, this will include a multi use games area.

Taylor Wimpey invests in a grrreat new home – for Woburn’s new tigers!

Leading local housebuilder Taylor Wimpey North Thames has provided support for a brand new home for two very special new arrivals at Woburn.

In the first corporate sponsorship of its kind, Taylor Wimpey has sponsored the new tiger house, which is now home to two Amur tigers from the European Endangered Species Program (EEP), Elton and Minerva.

As well as supporting an environment which will allow Woburn’s visitors to enjoy the amazing spectacle of these beautiful animals, Taylor Wimpey’s investment is also aiding the conservation of the species, as the safari park is hoping the tigers will breed successfully and nurture future generations.

Peter Gurr, Managing Director of Taylor Wimpey North Thames, says: “We are very proud and excited to be involved in this unique partnership with Woburn Safari Park.

“We have extensive experience in creating perfect properties for people, but I can safely say this is the first time we have helped provide the investment for a new home for tigers!”

Christine Scarborough, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey North Thames, adds: “As a housebuilder we are committed to investing in the communities in which we build our new homes, and our sponsorship of the tigers at Woburn is a fantastic way to fund a unique conservation project as well as providing a wonderful experience for all the safari park’s visitors.”

Woburn Safari Park Commercial Manager, Claire Rhodes, says: “We are delighted to welcome Taylor Wimpey as our first corporate partner and the sole sponsor of the new Amur tiger house in the Kingdom of the Carnivores. At the same time, this investment is a valuable contribution to our fundraising, conservation and breeding plans for these endangered animals.
