Primary school’s summer fete benefits from a cash boost
We were delighted to provide a cash boost to St Mary’s Wavendon C of E Primary School in Wavendon to support its summer fete fundraiser!

Our funding provided a Pimm’s tent at the fete, which took place on Saturday 18th June to raise money for new sports equipment. We also donated to the school’s PTA group, which raised money from a staff dress‑down day to celebrate the England vs Wales European Championship match on Thursday 16th June – boosting the total amount raised to £200.
Headteacher Amanda Dicks says: “The school summer fete was a fun‑filled day for the whole family, with lots of stalls and refreshments, a barbecue, a bouncy castle, and of course the Pimm’s tent which was kindly provided by Taylor Wimpey.
“The PTA is doing a fantastic job of raising funds to help us purchase new sports equipment for our pupils and to pay for our coaches to take the entire school to watch the pantomime at Milton Keynes Theatre later this year.
“We’re extremely thankful to Taylor Wimpey for this generous donation – and on behalf of the PTA and the school I’d like to express our appreciation. Support from local businesses like this makes a huge difference to us and allows the school to provide our pupils with the best equipment.”
Gareth Jacob, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey South Midlands, says: “We feel it’s extremely important to invest in the communities where we build our new homes, so we were delighted to offer our support to St Mary’s Wavendon C of E Primary School and help them raise money for important sports equipment.
“We really hope the school benefits from our donation and we wish the PTA the best of luck with their fundraising.”
Leading housebuilder Taylor Wimpey has donated high-visibility slap bands to children at Fulbrook Middle School in Woburn Sands to help keep them safe on their walk to school.
The donation has been made as part of Walk to School Month, which ran throughout October and is designed to encourage children and parents to make walking to school part of their daily routine, encouraging a healthy lifestyle and minimising car journeys.
Taylor Wimpey, which is building new homes at its Parklands development in Woburn Sands, has given the school fluorescent slap bands for children to make them more visible to drivers on their journey in each day.
Steve Rolt, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey, says: “We are committed to supporting the communities in which we build our high-quality new homes, and this donation is an excellent example of the way we can help schools and other local organisations.
“Nowadays there is a real concern about the amount of time children spend outside being active and walking to school is an ideal way to help them get more exercise – but it’s important that they can be seen clearly by motorists.
“We hope our high-visibility slap bands will help keep the children safe during the darker winter months and encourage them to walk to school more regularly. More children walking will also help minimise the number of cars on the road at the beginning and end of the school day.”
Pupils at Fulbrook Middle School in Woburn Sands will be safer on their walk to school wearing the fluorescent slap bands donated by leading housebuilder Taylor Wimpey.
Tanya and Chris discover their dream first home with Taylor Wimpey
“We looked at a few two-bedroom properties but when we saw the three-bedroom ‘Garsdale’ we knew that was the house for us.
“We really love the unusual shape of the property as it sits on a corner – it’s quirky and different and we don’t know anyone else with a house like it!
“The sales staff gave us lots of different options about how to personalise our new home and we were able to get new ideas for our house by looking around the showhomes. We upgraded a number of things including the door handles and the kitchen worktops. We also added a shower in the bathroom and spotlights in the kitchen and chose the carpets and flooring throughout.
“We wanted a new-build for our first house because we wanted to move in and not have to do any work, which is exactly what we’ve got!
“We are really pleased with our new home and want to say thank you to Taylor Wimpey. The sales team have been absolutely fantastic. Jeannette in the Sales Centre has been brilliant from start to finish and Terry, our Site Manager, has been so helpful too.
“They have always kept us in the loop and explained everything to us about the Help to Buy scheme that we used in detail, and if we ever had any questions they were more than happy to answer them.”
