      Crewe is a very well connected railway community, the theory being that the town was named after the pivotal 1837 railway station, rather than the other way around!

      The station’s 12 platforms can take you pretty much anywhere you want to go in Britain: Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, Cardiff and of course London, which is only 1 hour and 35 minutes away.

      But there’s more to Crewe than trains. There’s also good shopping, including the Grand Junction Retail Park, the huge green oval of Queen’s Park with its boating lake and attractions like The Crewe Heritage Centre and the Edwardian, grade II-listed Lyceum Theatre.

      The town has half a dozen secondary schools, plus Reaseheath College, which specialises in agriculture and horticulture.
