    We're Proud to support Wadebridge

As part of its commitment to supporting local communities, Taylor Wimpey has put over £460,000 into improving the local area surrounding its Chy Ryn Parc development in Wadebridge, north Cornwall.

Among the major projects that Taylor Wimpey has contributed to locally is the construction of a skate park in central Wadebridge, which the housebuilder put about £150,000 towards, as well as a £230,000 contribution towards the expansion of Wadebridge Secondary School.

Taylor Wimpey has supported a number of smaller-scale initiatives in the area as well, such as donating £1,000 towards The Wave Project, a surf therapy charity based in Newquay. The housebuilder also worked with the pupils of Wadebridge Primary Academy, who painted images of the local area onto fences at the development.

Melissa Langton, Senior Sales Manager for Taylor Wimpey Exeter, said: “We’re so proud of the contributions we’ve made towards the local community around Wadebridge and our Chy Ryn Parc development. We are not only committed to providing quality homes, but also to ensuring that we are giving something back to the local communities where we build. It’s a real privilege to be involved in projects and initiatives such as the ones around Chy Ryn Parc.”

Taylor Wimpey helps young couple secure their dream home in Cornwall with Help to Buy

After visiting Taylor Wimpey’s Chy Ryn Parc development in Wadebridge, Rowan Lewis, 22, and Conor Constance, 23, never imagined that they would be able to afford a home there. But after discussing their options with the Sales Executives, the Help to Buy scheme made their dream of owning a home a reality, as Rowan confirms:

“We’ve always wanted to buy our own home, so once I had got a full time job after University we were confident enough to visit the sales office at Chy Ryn Parc. To be honest, our first impressions were that we’d never be able to afford it. But the Sales Executives in the sales office were amazing; they guided us through the Help to Buy scheme, and we were able to get our dream first home. By using Help to Buy we reserved our home with just a reduced deposit which was incredible, we also used a financial advisor recommended by Taylor Wimpey to keep the process simple.”

Commenting on the decision to buy a three bedroom Gosford home with Taylor Wimpey, Conor said: “Taylor Wimpey stood out from other local developers because of the high quality and layout of the houses. We chose the Gosford as we could see ourselves growing into the house; we loved the layout, the size of the living room, and how the kitchen leads out onto the garden where we’ll be enjoying dining alfresco in the Summer.”

Since completing on the property in April, Rowan and Conor have been loving life in their new home, as Rowan confirms: “Every day after work I’m so happy to come back to our home. I love the floor to ceiling windows that feature in our living room and master bedroom, and I enjoy relaxing in the living room whilst looking out onto beautiful greenery. It’s amazing to see how the development changes day by day. We’ve met a few of our neighbours who’ve made this development feel like a real community. The best thing about Chy Ryn Parc is the location though, we’re just a 10 minute walk away from town, and not far from the school either - this really is future-proof living. As our hometown, being able to stay close to Wadebridge means that we are not only close to our family, but we don’t have to commute far to work either. Our new home has fit in with our lifestyle as if we’ve been living here for years.”

Secure your dream home with Help to Buy

By using the Help to Buy scheme you can secure a new home with just a 5% deposit. For a three-bedroom property on sale at £237,000, this means monthly mortgage repayments could be as low as £537.72*.

This is based on a purchase price of £237,000, a client deposit £11,850 using the Help to Buy Shared Equity loan of 20% and a repayment mortgage of £177,750 with Halifax Bank over 35 years, initially on a fixed rate of 1.39% until 31/03/2021, followed by the current standard variable rate of 4.24% for 393 monthly payments of £799.44

The total amount payable would be £329,059.63 made up of the loan amount plus interest and product fee £999. In addition, a Valuation Fee of £200 applies. The overall cost for comparison is 3.9% APRC representative (correct as of 8th November 2018).
