Taylor Wimpey is proud to support Glossop charity, Reuben’s Retreat
Volunteers in Glossop have been getting green-fingered by planting 200 daffodil bulbs on the premises of local charity, Reuben’s Retreat.
The charity’s goal is to provide a retreat to relieve the distress of families who have suffered the bereavement of a child, or have a child suffering from a life limiting or life-threatening illness. Although the retreat itself is not yet up and running, the charity is already supporting families in this position.
Reuben’s Retreat accepted the bulbs as a donation from homebuilder, Taylor Wimpey Yorkshire, as the Laurel View housing development is less than a mile away from the charity’s main base at Park Crescent.
The donation comes as part of the Proud campaign, demonstrating Taylor Wimpey’s ongoing commitment and pride in the communities in which it builds.
Nicky Dean, PA to Reuben’s Mummy, from Reuben’s Retreat, says: “It’s great to see a company like Taylor Wimpey think about the wider community while they are building in the local area, and leave something beautiful behind that will last for years to come. The donation came at a fantastic time for us. Taylor Wimpey actually approached us just as we were starting to look for flowers to plant on site!
“We all loved getting to work with our spades and can’t wait to see the results.”

Help to Buy: Equity Loan
This is one of just a few homes that is still eligible for the current Help to Buy: Equity Loan scheme, which is open to both first time buyers and existing homeowners and means you'll need just 5% deposit to buy a new home. From April 2021, the price cap for Help to Buy will depend on the area you live in, and the scheme will be offered exclusively to first time buyers.
With the current Help to Buy scheme, the Government will lend you up to 20% of the value of your new build home via an equity loan. You will need to secure up to a 75% mortgage and put down a 5% deposit. You’ll own 100% of your home from day one.
