Taylor Wimpey are redeveloping the Bournemouth International Hotel (BIH) and Ocean Palace Restaurant, superbly located on the junction of Priory Road and Beacon Road, Bournemouth. Designed as two impressive buildings, the East Coast and West Coast apartments will offer the very best for modern day living.
We have a Section 106 legal agreement with Bournemouth Borough Council which secures contributions for Public Open Space contributions, Heathlands Mitigation contributions, a Travel Plan, details on the Holiday Lets and improvements to the footpath on Priory Road. We are working closely with Bournemouth Borough Council planners and Town Centre Vision Project to bring this flagship development for both Bournemouth Borough Council and Taylor Wimpey forward.
When you make your move to Coast, you'll quickly realise why Bournemouth has always been one of the most popular, most prosperous and most enviable towns in the country.
AFC Bournemouth chairman makes Coast his home
Jeff and Rose Mostyn, residents at Coast
“As chairman of AFC Bournemouth, I felt at some stage I would like to become a member of the local community, as my wife Rose and I currently live outside Bournemouth, so we started looking at a number of developments in the town.
“We didn’t have to think too long before committing ourselves to an apartment at Coast. The development occupies the most magnificent location and once we’d gone on the roof area and seen the amazing view of the coastline we felt there was probably no better place in Bournemouth to buy a home.
“Structurally it looks superb and the quality of the interior finish is also first class. From the moment we walked into the show room, I’ve been so impressed by the whole experience with Taylor Wimpey.
“With the regeneration taking place in this part of Bournemouth, you can see it’s really going to be the entertainment centre of the town and will be for many years to come.
“It’s right next to Bournemouth International Centre and there’s over £50 million being spent on the West Central leisure complex, which includes a new 2,000-seat cinema and 14 new restaurants, plus a brand new Hilton Hotel nearby.
“And with the beach there too, everything is on your doorstep. It really is the most amazing location.
“We’re really excited about getting in our new home. At the moment it’s going to be somewhere for us to come for the weekend, in particular on match day.
“With the stresses associated with any games, especially in the Premier League, we both feel it would be really nice to travel just a mile or so down the road from the stadium and spend the rest of the weekend in a really relaxing environment.
“My wife always wanted a room with a view and now she’s going to have a fantastic room with an incredible view!
“It’s always hard buying off-plan rather than seeing the completed apartment or house, but we were very impressed with the way the staff were able to paint a really realistic picture of what the finished apartment will be.
“It’s given us a great deal of confidence. The level of service we’ve received, along with the knowledge and professionalism of the staff, has been incredible.”
Win and Jean find their dream home by the sea at Coast!
Win and Jean Sharma with Taylor Wimpey Sales Executive, Julia Smillie.
Win and Jean have been enjoying their lifestyle in Bournemouth so much since retiring, that they decided to treat themselves to a gorgeous new penthouse at Coast.
The couple will be relocating from their three‑bedroom apartment across town into their brand new two‑bedroom penthouse at Coast next spring – so they’ll soon be enjoying the picturesque sea views in Bournemouth.
“We had a really good experience buying our first Taylor Wimpey home in 2008, so when we saw they were building new homes in Bournemouth we had to go and take a look,” says Win (70).
“We fell in love with the sea view apartments at Coast and it’s also closer to the centre of town, so because we don’t have any dependants or children and grandchildren, we decided to treat ourselves!
“The magnificent sea views really sold the property to us, but we also chose to purchase at Coast because everything is brand new and we like that. It’s also a fantastic opportunity to invest our money rather than have it sitting in a bank. We feel that property investment is a safe option and we can enjoy it by buying the house we want.”
Win and Jean (67) used our Part Exchange initiative to buy their new home, which sees customers receive an agreed offer price for their existing property based on the average of independent professional valuations.
With us as their cash buyer and no danger of the property chain collapsing, Part Exchange purchasers are free to sit back and relax until their brand new home is ready to move into.
“We used the Part Exchange scheme to purchase our new home and it’s an attractive option to homebuyers – it’s a good deal,” continues Win. “It’s not just by chance that we’re purchasing our second Taylor Wimpey property. We really respect them as a housebuilder and the team have always ensured we are happy and taken care of.
“It offered us peace of mind purchasing with them. Nothing is perfect and there are always a few things to sort out with any new‑build property, but it’s the customer service and the aftercare that matters and Taylor Wimpey are fantastic at sorting any issues as quickly as possible – I’d definitely recommend them.”
Having lived in Bournemouth for over five years, the location of Coast offered Win and Jean the perfect place to buy a new home.
“Bournemouth just used to be regarded as a place to retire, but there’s been a lot of investment and renovation in the area in recent years,” explains Win. “Bournemouth has become a very vibrant and cosmopolitan place with lots of young people moving here, so it’s not what it used to be.
“We love living here and definitely don’t plan to move away. It’s a nice, relaxing place with nine miles of beautiful sandy beaches, lots of restaurants, shops and a great university which attracts a lot of international people.
Bournemouth council leader visits Coast
Cllr Beesley, Leader of the Council with Katie Westbrook and Melvin Elford.
Bournemouth’s Council Leader took time out of his busy schedule to visit our Coast development and see how we are transforming this prominent cliff-top location in the heart of the town’s tourist district.
During a tour of the collection of high-quality new apartments, penthouses and holiday lets on Tuesday 29th November, Cllr John Beesley saw for himself how construction of our exciting new development is progressing.
Cllr Beesley, who also represents the Westbourne and West Cliff ward on Bournemouth Borough Council, took time to talk with Katie Westbrook and Melvin Elford from Taylor Wimpey and also discovered how the development has created jobs for local construction workers and supported the local supply chain.
He said: “I was very pleased to be able to visit this new development in Bournemouth, and see at first hand the transformation of this iconic location into a wonderful place to live or stay. It is great to see a housebuilder such as Taylor Wimpey investing in our local economy, as well as providing new apartments which will boost availability within both the residential and holiday let markets within the town.”
Roz Wells, Associate Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties, says: “We were delighted to welcome Cllr Beesley for a VIP visit to our Coast development in Bournemouth.
“We were able to show him the spacious layouts and high-specification interiors of these fabulous new homes – and the breathtaking views on offer – as well as discussing the benefits brought to Bournemouth by Taylor Wimpey’s investment in the local community.”
“Buying a home at Coast is a fantastic opportunity and we’re really looking forward to moving – it’s a new adventure for us.”
