New homes in Gillingham

Gillingham Lakes is a new collection of high quality 2, 3 & 4 bedroom homes launching Autumn 2021.

Phase 1 will provide 90 new homes in various styles to suite everyone's needs, as well as large areas of public open space adjoining the River Lodden, making Gillingham Lakes the perfect place to call home.

Gillingham is a 'gateway town' the most northerly town in Dorset and within the Blackmore Vale, with great road links to both the A303 and A30 and easy rail links with Gillingham train station, being on the main railway line from Exeter to London, with a journey time of approximately 2 hours to London Waterloo.

The centre of the town is a mixture of old and new buildings, with a historic church, a number of independent shops, restaurants and high street banks and supermarkets, including Asda and Waitrose.

Leisure activities are on hand with countryside pursuits including the Stour Valley Way where you can walk the footpaths to follow the course of the River Stour.  Alternatively, RiversMeet sports facility - the only community owned and managed sports and leisure facility within the UK, offers a variety of fitness classes, state of the art Gym and a 6 lane swimming pool.

Education is taken care of with 4 primary schools and a secondary school and 6th form college.  Nearby colleges are at Salisbury and Yeovil.  Gillingham Lakes is close to Lodden fishing lakes to the west, River Lodden to the east and fields to the south, plus a public footpath over the River Lodden provides easy access to St Mary’s primary school.

We're proud to support local communities

A home is more than just a house, it's also the community that surrounds it.  And that's why we're invested in building communities that support local businesses, provide much needed facilities for the area and bring people together.

We will be making significant financial contributions towards improving local infrastructure and community facilities. A contribution of over £1,400,000 will be made to North Dorset District Council which will include over £132,000 to a community hall, £530,000 to support local education, over £70,000 towards Hardings Lane Recreation Ground and over £40,000 towards a sports area. Additionally, contributions will be made for footpaths, bus stops and local areas of play.

A sales information centre for Gillingham Lakes is scheduled to open in Autumn 2021 and Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties has submitted its outline planning application for 115 units (25% on-site affordable) on Phase 2; aiming to complete on the Phase 2 land in June 2022.
