A home is more than just a house, it’s also about the community that surrounds it. And that’s why we’re invested in building communities that support local businesses, provide much needed facilities for the area and bring people together.
To support the growing community in Market Weighton we’ll be contributing over £160,000 towards additional primary, secondary and sixth-form education places at local schools as part of our planning obligations for Foxley Meadows. We’ll also be providing 28 hectares of open space, creating a large recreational area for all to enjoy. Alongside this, our contributions to East Riding of Yorkshire Council will help to improve the local infrastructure.

Taylor Wimpey believes strongly in giving back to the local communities in which it builds homes.
Focusing on initiatives close to its Foxley Meadows development, the housebuilder has contributed to local schools and sports teams, providing both advice and donations in recent months.
Mount Pleasant Junior C of E school in Market Weighton recently welcomed Taylor Wimpey through its gates to give the school’s children a lesson on the importance of health and safety on construction sites.
Kids between the ages of seven and eleven benefitted from being taught some of the practical methods contractors use to stay safe on a building site in an insightful and inquisitive discussion. The 45-minute presentation covered other high-risk areas within the home and answered any questions the children had.
In addition to working with schools, Taylor Wimpey has provided East Riding League team, Goodmanham FC, with a contribution towards new match day and training supplies. Recognising the key role that football teams play in the local community, Taylor Wimpey was proud to sponsor the Market Weighton-based side and has been flying the flag for the local team.
