    From the North:
    Follow the A22 through Lower Dicker and take the third exit on the Boship roundabout continuing onto the A22.

  • Moving on up at The Grange for Stephen & Michael

    Getting on the housing ladder can be a precarious prospect for some would-be buyers but one couple is showing that once you get a foothold, it’s possible to scale the rungs quickly.

    And what a difference two years have made for Stephen Baird and his partner Michael Williams, who live at our impressive The Grange development.

    Back in the summer of 2013, the couple were renting a three-bedroom house in Hove and were concerned over the rising cost of living in rented accommodation – but the goal of saving enough money for a deposit on a new home required by most mortgage-lenders appeared out of reach.

     

    Thanks to the popular Help to Buy shared equity scheme, however, the couple have not only been able to buy a brand new house at The Grange, but they were recently able to upgrade to an even bigger new home at our development.

     

    Stephen and Michael’s first new home at The Grange was a three-bedroom ‘Holly’ property, which they moved into on July 31, 2013.

     

    Almost two years to the day, in 2015, the couple completed the purchase of their new ‘Fuchsia’ home, which boasts an exceptional feeling of space, helped by a stunning semi-octagonal double-height bay window which floods the house with natural light.

    “We loved our first home at The Grange but wanted something a bit bigger and thanks to Help to Buy, the opportunity arose to upgrade,” explains Stephen (49), a computer system designer. 

    “The ‘Fuchsia’ had all the right features, was in the right location, had a private, south-facing garden and had everything exactly as we wanted. It is quite amazing to think how far we have come in just two years!”

    Stephen and Michael (48), who works in the NHS, have been particularly impressed by our staff at The Grange, who have helped the house-buying and selling process from start to finish.

    The couple’s ‘Holly’ home was sold within just a day of it going on the market.

    “Buying and selling a house is not the easiest process but Taylor Wimpey’s staff here were really helpful. Their customer service is quick and efficient,” says Stephen.

    He gave particular praise to our two Site Managers, Joe and Alex, and Sales Executives, Denise and Rosemary.

    “Nothing was ever too much trouble,” he adds.  “I can tell you, if every site had these four people, you wouldn’t be able to build houses fast enough!”
