    Proud to announced the winner of our community competition

    We were delighted to donate £500 to St Helena after the Colchester-based charity received the most votes in our community competition. Residents from in and around Colchester were invited to vote for a local good cause to receive a helping hand as part of Taylor Wimpey's national Proud campaign, with the hospice receiving the most nominations. The runners up were Emmaus Colchester and Colchester Family Support which received a £300 and £100 prize respectively. 

    St Helena Hospice helps people face incurable illnesses and bereavements, supporting them and their loved ones. The hospice aims to reach out to people regardless of their diagnosis or circumstances and empower them to plan ahead, share their choices and achieve their wishes. By endeavouring to help life go on in the face of dying, St Helena works to provide more people with dignity and choice at the end of life.

    Mark Jarmon-Howe, Chief Executive at St Helena Hospice, said: “When we were nominated for Taylor Wimpey’s community competition, we were absolutely thrilled and it was even more of an honour to be announced as the winner. The work that we do at St Helena is hugely helped by kind donations such as this one and we’re really looking forward to putting the donation to good use.”
