Supporting the communities in which we build

Site manager goes back to school to help Essex pupils plant spring bulbs

Our Waters Edge site manager went back to his old primary school to help pupils plant daffodil bulbs that were donated by the Taylor Wimpey East London team.

Andy Jobson joined children and staff at Great Wakering Primary Academy on Tuesday 6th November 2018 to plant 200 bulbs in planters outside the school. The bulbs were donated by our East London team as part of Taylor Wimpey's national Proud campaign to show our commitment and pride in leaving a lasting legacy in the communities in which we build.

Andy manages Waters Edge @ Wyborne Park, a development of new homes close to the school in Great Wakering. As a former pupil he knows the area well, and even brought along the original digging licence for the site to show the children.

Paula Gray, Office Manager at Great Wakering Primary Academy, said “It was lovely for our reception children to have the opportunity to plant some spring daffodil bulbs and also to welcome Andy back to the school. We all loved getting to work with our spades and can’t wait to see the results.”

Rochford Hundred RFC gets £200 donation from for new team kit

As part of our ongoing commitment to working in partnership with local communities we donated a further £200 to Rochford Hundred Rugby Football Club U14’s team in Hawkwell, having previously given a donation of £1,200 in 2017 to cover the costs of a rugby shirt for each of the 30 under-14s team players.

Rochford Hundred RFC was established in 1962 and is an important part of the local community. The club has over 20 teams for men, women, young adults and children in the area, ranging from non contact ‘Little Scrummers’ aged 2-6 years, through to the adult mens 1st team.

Gary Barber, Youth Chairman at Rochford Hundred RFC, said: “We are extremely grateful for the support that we have received from Taylor Wimpey and we can’t thank them enough for their generous donation. Without this type of help we wouldn’t be able to supply the teams with kit and it gives the players such a boost to be wearing smart, matching shirts, which in turn makes them feel more professional and play better.”
