Set in the shallow valley of the River Rib, Buntingford resonates its heritage through the numerous listed buildings in the area, some dating back through the centuries to the 1600s adding to this town’s classical English charm.

Just off the High Street lies the Layston Court Gardens originally belonging to Layston Court House, which was built in the early 15th century. These stunning gardens are often referred to as “a quiet oasis in the middle of the town” offering a peaceful place to relax and unwind just a few steps away from the town centre. There is a wide variety of shops on the High Street ranging from small, quaint shops to larger businesses catering for your everyday needs with bakers, supermarkets, chemists, cafes and the nearby Pearce's farm shop. In keeping with the charter, there is a market every Monday on Market Hill offering a range of fresh fruit, produce and clothing.

Sporting activities are well catered for in the Buntingford area with the Seth Ward Community Centre recreation ground’s two football pitches and The Ward Freman Swimming Pool and Solarium. For those who want to join in with the community and start up a new hobby, there is an array of clubs on offer including cricket, football and bowls catering for every age and interest. For the winter months, indoor activities can be enjoyed from badminton, table tennis or karate through to pool and dart teams at local pubs.

There is a range of education options in Buntingford ranging from first school to college making this a great place to live for families. Those starting out in education can join the Layston First School or Millfield First School then progress onto Edwinstree C of E Middle School. The Upper School and Sixth Form in Buntingford is known as Freman College and is a popular choice for local students.

Buntingford is conveniently located in the district of East Hertfordshire with excellent links to the south of Cambridge and north of London on the A10. Commuters will benefit from excellent train and bus links into and out of Hertfordshire.

  • Personalise your home

    Style your new home

Did you know you could personalise your new home even before you move in?

Once you've reserved, your Sales Executive will arrange a Choices and Options Meeting, where you’ll get your opportunity to choose from a wide range of upgrades and optional extras.

You could choose tiles, flooring, kitchens, white goods, lighting… and many more features and fittings besides. And because we build many options in as we construct your new home, you’ll have more choices the earlier you reserve. Your Sales Executive will tell you the options available to you at each stage.

Once you've chosen your optional extras, you can discuss the different ways you could pay for them with your Sales Executive. Then all that’s left for you to do is to move into your new home with everything already installed and working!
