Community

Officers Mess at Shorncliffe Heights is part of the wider redevelopment of the former MOD Shorncliffe Garrison barracks, which will comprise up to 1,200 new homes. The development is shaping up to be an exciting new community and many new residents have already settled into their new homes.

Design

The new homes at Officers Mess have been designed with the history of the site in mind and many will benefit from views of existing trees. They will be located around the original officers mess building which is to be retained and converted, giving residents the rare opportunity to appreciate the heritage on their doorstep.

Green open spaces

Officers Mess is surrounded by large areas of countryside and tree lined parks. The nearby Seabrook Valley, which leads to the coast, is perfect for weekend walks, while Brockhill Country Park has lots of wildlife to discover along with picnic and play areas.

Community

A house is more than just a home, it’s also about the community that surrounds it. That’s why we’re invested in building communities that support local businesses, provide much needed facilities for the area and bring people together.

To support the growing community in Folkestone and the wider Shorncliffe Heights development, we’ll be providing over £3million towards primary education, £167,000 towards local libraries and £445,000 towards the maintenance of open spaces as part of our planning obligations. We will also be providing £80,000 to Folkestone and Hythe District Council towards public rights of way improvements, £25,000 for improvements to cycle routes, £880,000 towards local bus services and £25,000 towards works at the A20 Cheriton High Street/Risborough Lane signals junction.
