Rossendale Youth Zone reaches for the stars with Taylor Wimpey donation
Rossendale Youth Zone has received a £1,000 donation from leading homebuilder Taylor Wimpey.
The donation will be used by the Stars Group which meet every Thursday at The Old Fire Station, Rawtenstall, to help fund activities at the centre.
The group supports 12 to 25-year olds who have special educational needs.
Gillian Lander, team leader at Rossendale Youth Zone which is part of the Children and Family Wellbeing service says: “Our aim is to provide a safe environment for our young people.
“We are so grateful for Taylor Wimpey’s generous donation to help keep the wide range of classes running.”
The sessions play a key role in helping young people meet socially. As well as exploring issues affecting them through activities such as arts and crafts, singing, dancing and cooking.
Chloe Dunn, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey Manchester, says: “Rossendale Youth Zone carries out fantastic work in the region and we’re delighted to be able to support them as part of our commitment to giving back to the local community.”
