    Wymondham is a historic market town that offers shopping, facilities and entertainment for all – a perfect place to make your home. The medieval streets with Georgian buildings and the stunning Wymondham Abbey are just some of the stunning picturesque backdrops for a thriving countryside community.

     

    Wymondham has a variety of amenities to help with day-to-day living whilst being set in the beautiful Norfolk countryside. The town offers a range of independent shops including a toy shop, a wine merchant, clothes and gift shops, as well as a delicatessen and a community run bookshop. If you are in need of a supermarket then you have a choice of Morrisons or Waitrose, or if you want unique then there is a weekly Friday market and a monthly famers’ market selling local produce.

     

    If you like being active and part of a team then there is a wide range of sports clubs on offer including football, rugby, tennis and athletics together with bowls and martial arts clubs and many more. Wymondham Leisure Centre has recently undergone a £3.5 million refurbishment and offers a 100-station gym, along with a swimming pool, spa area as well as a café.

     

    Wymondham has a thriving arts scene, with exhibitions at Wymondham Arts Centre and an annual two-week festival featuring a huge range of local music talent in a wide variety of music styles from classical to contemporary and many more.

     

    For those that wish to spend time in the glorious countryside why not try one of the trail walks alongside the River Tiffey. While you’re out head to the 900-year old Wymondham Abbey, where the unusual twin towers are a prominent local landmark.

     

    There are a number of places to eat in Wymondham whether it’s popping into the Hen House café for a coffee and a homemade cake or an evening at the Green Dragon, 14th century tavern with a menu that includes local produce. If you would rather dine out at a mainstream chain then Norwich city centre boasts everything from a Jamie’s Italian to the Japanese Wagamama chain.

     

    There are a number of primary and secondary schools within reach of the new homes at Birch Gate, including Browick Road Primary School, rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted at its most recent inspection. For older students the University of East Anglia offers a wide range of degree courses and is under 11 miles away.

     

    For commuters the A11 provides routes to Norwich, under 12 miles away and Thetford 20 miles away. Wymondham railway station provides services to Norwich in 15 minutes and Cambridge in 67 minutes.

     

    Meanwhile, it’s just 30 miles to the popular beach resort of Great Yarmouth for a great day out at the seaside.
