Redcar Athletic girls get suited up for the season
Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire is delighted to announce its continued partnership with Redcar Athletic Football Club, sponsoring the under tens girls team with a cash boost of £500.
The homebuilder’s donation has been used to purchase brand-new tracksuits for the squad, which has more than doubled in size since it launched in July 2016.
John Patchett, coach at Redcar Athletic Football Club, comments: “We are thrilled by how much the girls team has grown over the last few months, not only in size, but in terms of skill and confidence.
“The girls absolutely love their new tracksuits and look like a professional squad before every game and during training. We are so grateful to Taylor Wimpey for this generous donation.”
Redcar Athletic Football Club has a number of junior teams ranging from under sevens to under 18s, for both boys and girls, as well as three senior teams. The club has seen tremendous growth over the years and now has more than 250 junior members.
Taylor Wimpey has been supporting the club since 2015, and is the current sponsor of the under 12s boys team, in addition to the girls team.
Debbie Whittingham, sales and marketing director at Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire, explains: “We strongly believe sport is a great way for children to keep active and learn the importance of teamwork, so we were thrilled to offer our support to the under tens girls squad.
“The tracksuits look terrific and will hopefully bring the team some extra luck for their upcoming games this season.”
Taylor Wimpey’s Rowan Garth development is located just a short distance from the club. The homebuilder recently released a selection of three-bedroom, semi-detached homes, from just £164,950.
John concludes: “Donations like this are so important to a junior club like ours, as purchasing new kits for every team can become very costly. We want to say a huge thank you to Taylor Wimpey for the continued support this season.”

The development of the site at Redcar will not only provide a range of new housing that will contribute greatly towards Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council's requirement, but will also facilitate the introduction of new local amenities and facilities, as well as the enhancement of existing ones, that could otherwise not be provided or sustained.
This project, that we are currently consulting you on, can provide a host of benefits to the local community, such as:
- Emphasis will be put on employing local labour throughout the construction phase.
- An approximate investment of over £1,260,000 will be received by Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council from the New Homes Bonus Scheme over a 6 year period, which has been set up by the Government to benefit local communities when accommodating new development.
- The development will deliver a range of housing to meet the needs and aspirations of the whole community. There will be a mix of affordable units as well as properties designed to meet the needs of first time buyers, key workers, families and also an element of large executive style housing.
- The project will cover any required improvements to local public open space that are necessary to accommodate the development.
