An NHBC Pride In The Job award winner managers our Whitacres Development

Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire Site Manager wins national house-building award - July 2020

Alec Edwards, site manager at Taylor Wimpey’s Broughton Manor development in Malton and Wynyard Manor, Durham is celebrating having won a prestigious national house-building award. Out of 11,000 entries, Alec was honoured with a NHBC (National House-Building Council) Pride in the Job Quality Award.

The awards recognise an individual’s dedication to building high-quality homes for new homebuyers and are presented following a rigorous judging process by NHBC inspectors. This includes assessing the developments throughout the year, as well as spot checks, giving homebuyers the assurance that Taylor Wimpey’s Broughton Manor development provides top-quality homes and excellent customer service.

Alec Edwards, site manager at Broughton Manor said: “I’m delighted to have won a Quality Award. It’s a fantastic honour, not just for me, but for the whole team at Broughton Manor. They all work incredibly hard and take great pride in ensuring that the homes we build are completed to the highest possible standards.”

Jackie Coulthard, Managing Director of Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire, added: “We are committed to maintaining the highest levels of quality and customer service, and this recognition has ensured that we continue to be an NHBC award-winning housebuilder year after year. Alec’s Quality Award is thoroughly deserved and we’ll all be supporting him as he progresses through to the regional heats and hopefully to the grand final.”

Pride in the Job is the only UK-wide awards scheme that recognises the significant contribution of Site Managers who achieve the highest standards in new home construction. It has been instrumental in raising the build quality of new homes in the UK for 40 years.

The competition’s regional events take place virtually in the autumn, whilst the Supreme Award winners will be announced in January 2021.
