Wimpey celebrates World Nature Conservation Day

Leading property developer, Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire, has partnered with Carlton Miniott Community Primary School for a tree planting initiative at its Kingfishers development, in Thirsk.Tree planting 3

The initiative took place in-line with World Nature Conservation Day which took place on 28th July 2015, and is a worldwide event in aid of raising awareness of wildlife preservation and protecting the natural environment.

Steve Crocker, head at Carlton Miniott Community Primary School, comments: “We’re thrilled to be working with Taylor Wimpey on this exciting initiative – and for such a good cause.

“We know how important it is to teach our children the importance of protecting the environment from a young age, making the tree planting activity perfect.”

Carlton Miniott Community Primary School is a community school which aims to provide an exciting and stimulating place for local children to learn. As well as the National Curriculum, the school provides a wealth of other in-school and out of school learning opportunities for its pupils.

Debbie Whittingham, sales and marketing director at Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire, comments: “Protecting the environment is at the forefront of our ethos and this is something we were keen to educate the children of Thirsk about.

“The tree planting exercise with the school was a lot of fun, and we’re glad that the group enjoyed the experience.”

Steve concludes: “It’s been great working with Taylor Wimpey on such a worthwhile cause, and we hope to partner with the company again in the not too distant future.”

Butlers take first step with Help to Buy

3889a (7)Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire reveals that Help to Buy is allowing buyers to purchase properties they deemed out of reach at its Kingfishers development in Thirsk

Glen Butler and his family were so impressed with the Kingfishers development that they reserved a new home within half an hour of the sales office opening.

Glen comments: “We had been renting in the area for some time and were keen to take our first step on the property ladder. We needed plenty of space for our two young children and were delighted that the Help to Buy scheme allowed us to buy such a spacious home on this fantastic new development.”

The Butlers will be moving into a three bedroom Aldenham property when it is completed in May.

Glen continues: “The layout of the Aldenham is perfect for us. The living area is extremely spacious and all the bedrooms are all well-proportioned which was extremely important for us and for our children too!”

Kingfishers currently features a range of properties, from just £259,950 and all are available to purchase with only a five per cent deposit, thanks to the government-backed Help to Buy scheme.

Debbie Whittingham, sales and marketing director at Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire comments: “We knew that The Butlers were eagerly anticipating the sales office opening at Kingfishers, so were delighted to hear that they were the first family to reserve.

“Homeowners often think that taking the first step on the property ladder will be a big stretch, but Help to Buy is making a real difference to so many buyers - and it is great to see that the Butlers are no exception.”

Glen concludes: “We have been extremely impressed with the customer service we have received from Taylor Wimpey and now we just can’t wait to move in!”

Off-plan sales surge on new homes

PD48-Bradenham-Plot-10A quarter of homes at Taylor Wimpey’s brand-new Kingfishers development in Thirsk, have already been snapped up from off-plan sales, with buyers taking advantage of Help to Buy.

Despite only opening its doors two months ago, the developer has sold over 25 per cent of properties available – the vast majority, through the government-backed scheme, where buyers need just a five per cent deposit to progress on the property ladder.

Debbie Whittingham, sales and marketing director at Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire comments: “To have taken a quarter of sales off-plan and in such a short space of time, is remarkable. One couple even reserved with Help to Buy within half an hour of us opening our doors, so the impact was immediate”.

The Help to Buy initiative gives eligible purchasers the option of securing any home at Kingfishers with just a five per cent deposit, while also benefitting from further savings thanks to the new stamp duty reform.

Debbie continues: “As we have various designs, the Kingfishers development has experienced success with all types of buyers, including both first-time buyers and growing families alike, and the new changes to stamp duty means that buying here is more cost-effective than ever.”

Debbie concludes: “If you are looking to move within the Thirsk area, I would recommend contacting our sales team as soon as possible to find out more about the various ways in which we can help you.”
