Taylor Wimpey celebrates World Book Day with Swansfield Park Primary School

The children at Swansfield Park Primary School enjoyed a special reading of Taylor Wimpey’s children’s book ‘How we build your home' with 'Milly Mortar and Handy Andy’ from our Sales Executive on World Book Day and received a £200 donation to purchase new books to encourage the children to develop their reading skills.

Now in its 23rd year, World Book Day aims to encourage children of all ages to enjoy and appreciate the pleasures of reading.

Jenny Smith, headteacher at Swansfield Park Primary School said: “World Book Day is a fantastic initiative which really encourages children to develop their reading. “Thanks to Taylor Wimpey’s donation, we’ll be able to add some new books to our library and we can’t wait for our pupils to get stuck into some new stories and take part in lots of fun activities around the new books.”

Sarah Northcott, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey North East said: “We were delighted to support Swansfield Park Primary School with a donation to mark World Book Day. “We hope the pupils had a brilliant day celebrating their favourite characters and that they enjoy reading their new books together.”

Taylor Wimpey has donated over £2,500 worth of household furniture from it's 4 bedroom Haddenham show home at Willowburn Park to the British Heart Foundation. 

The area manager at the British Heart Foundation says: "We were really touched by Taylor Wimpey's generous donation, the proceeds from which will help us to continue our vital research into heart and circulatory diseases.

“We hope this will encourage shoppers in the Alnwick area to check out the high-quality home furnishings available at their local British Heart Foundation branch.”
