By road, the M40 (Junction 11) is just 3.6 miles away, and the M1 (Junction 15A) is around 25 miles away at Northampton. There is also a daily bus service to Banbury and Oxford, via Adderbury, Deddington and Kidlington.

    Youth footballers at Bicester Town Colts Football Club in Oxfordshire are celebrating after securing a £500 sponsorship deal with Taylor Wimpey, which will see the U12s getting new rain jackets. 

    Lee Brain, U12s team manager at Bicester Town Colts, says: “The team will be wearing the coats before and after matches, and the subs will be

     happy to keep warm and dry while they’re waiting to play. We often take the whole team on day trips so the jackets will be handy then too.
    “On behalf of everyone I’d like to say a huge thank you to Taylor Wimpey. Fundraising for local sports teams can be difficult and we can’t express enough how grateful we are.”
    The team is made up of 15 boys and the majority of its members have been playing together for six years, with Lee coaching them along the way. They play in the U12A division of the Witney and District Youth Football League.

    We’ve also recently supported Cherwell Edge Golf Club Ladies Sections’ November Fayre by providing a number of raffle prizes for their event. The November Fayre Competition has been running for 21 years and this year raised funds for local charities, Katharine House Hospice based in Banbury and the Northamptonshire and Warwickshire Air Ambulance.

    Greenfields schoolNew school is taking shape

    Construction work for the new school which is due to open at Longford Park in September 2017 is nearing completion. 
    Longford Park Primary School is located off Canal Lane, opposite the new homes in Phase 3 of the development, ideal for families looking to make Longford Park their home.
    The new school is being built by Oxfordshire County Council and will be run by GLF Schools, a multi-academy trust.
    Longford Park Primary School will open for children of Nursery, Reception and Year 1 age in September 2017 and will eventually cater for pupils up to Year 6. More information is available on the school website www.longfordparkschool.org.
