    Thame is rising to the top

    Thame has been awarded a Rising Star in the Great British High Street Competition 2015.

    The nationwide competition revealed the 21 best high streets in Britain - with winners recovering a share of a prize pot worth £80,000. Although Thame High Street just missed out on the final, the judging panel were so impressed by the great strides the community in Thame has made in improving their high street that they awarded a special Rising Star award and £1,000 cash.

    Thame High Street has also been voted one of the Ten Greatest Places in England, as chosen by judges in a competition being run by the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).

    The competition is designed to celebrate some of our most attractive and inspiring places and the role planners have played in helping to protect or shape them for England's communities.
