Set within landscaped grounds incorporating mature trees and green open spaces, Pippin Wood will provide a wealth of choice for first-time buyers, downsizers and growing families looking to settle down in green and pleasant surroundings.

Wellington is an ancient settlement which became established as a market town following the award of its Royal Charter in 1244, and it prospered as a result of the iron industry and coaching trade. Its rich history is celebrated every year with the ever-popular Midsummer Fayre.

Today, the thriving town centre boasts a variety of attractive historic buildings, bustling indoor and outdoor markets and a host of independent shops, traditional pubs, bars and well regarded eateries – as well as free parking.

Wellington also benefits from excellent transport connections, with the nearby railway station providing direct connections to Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Shrewsbury and mid-Wales, and the M54 and A5 within easy reach.

Regular bus services also operate to Telford, just five miles away, which offers more than 150 high-street and independent shops plus a host of leisure and entertainment opportunities including the Oakengate Theatre, Telford Ice Rink, Telford Ski Centre and a multi-screen cinema.

Parents will appreciate the close proximity of a number of schools for children of all ages, and there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors close by, with the Shropshire Hills right on the doorstep and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ironbridge Gorge one of the many attractions waiting to be explored in rural Shropshire.

    The Extra Care Facility

Our proposed development will fulfil a recognised local need for Extra Care housing in the local area, enabling older people to live more independently, reducing social isolation and improving well-being. Extra Care also reduces the burden on existing residential care services.

The proposed Extra Care facility will be delivered as an entirely affordable scheme through The Wrekin Housing Trust, which means that 46% of the total number of homes being created will be affordable – well above Telford & Wrekin Council’s normal policy target of 35%.

Our development would also create an estimated 115 new jobs for the local area, including 15 permanent positions within the Extra Care facility and more than 100 construction jobs, including apprenticeships.

We will also provide a number of contributions towards local community facilities, public services and infrastructure as part of the proposed development.
