    Local contributions

A number of contributions will be made to the local community as part of the development. These have been secured through a legal agreement known as a Section 106 Agreement, which has been established as part of the existing outline planning consent, and will include the following:

    • An education contribution to be paid towards the provision of additional pupil places and facilities at Chilcompton Church of England Primary School

    • A contribution to be paid towards the improvement of recreational services within Chilcompton.

School's I.T. department gets a cash boost from Taylor Wimpey!

Pupils at St Vigor & St John Church of England Primary School in Chilcompton, Somerset, will be able to improve their IT skills thanks to a donation from Taylor Wimpey Bristol.

The leading local housebuilder, which has recently launched its brand new Belvedere Place development in the village, has donated £250 to the school, which has put the money to good use by purchasing an iPad.

Sam Winsley, chair of the school’s PTFA (Parent Teachers & Friends Association), says: “We’re incredibly grateful to Taylor Wimpey for the donation, which will buy us an iPad at a particularly important time because our IT budget has recently been cut significantly, so any help we receive is wonderful.

“We raise money to support the school’s budget, and are always looking for support from the local community. The new Taylor Wimpey development is just up the road from the school and we’re very thankful for their generosity.

“IT is a key element of education at the school, and iPads are especially useful because they are something exciting the children can engage with, giving them the opportunity to make and edit videos and develop their knowledge of touch-screen technology.”

Charlie Joseph, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey, says: “As a considerate, responsible local housebuilder we are committed to supporting the communities in which we build, so we’re more than happy to make this donation to St Vigor & St John Church of England Primary School.

“We hope the pupils continue to enjoy learning valuable IT skills.”
