The proposed site is located in an existing suburban area of Walsall, located approximately 13km north-west of Birmingham.
The site is situated on a brownfield site, which used to be a copper works. It is bordered to the north and east by fields and parklands, while to the south is a small industrial estate, and to the west is a large number of residential properties.
The Goscote Lane development is a new residential development consisting of 263 homes, vehicle and cycle parking and private external amenity spaces.
The site is located in close proximity to a local shop, primary school and bus services. As part of the new development, a bus stop will be created centrally to Goscote Lane.
