East of England Co-op is just a 4 minute drive from Stour View. There are two pubs, a bakery, hairdressers, Chinese restaurant and regular visiting takeaway services to the village too. The nearest gym is Live Fit gym in nearby Manningtree. There’s a great range of schools nearby including ‘Outstanding’ Brooklands Primary School, only an 8 minute walk, and Manningtree and East Bergholt High School are both within 3 miles.

You can meet up with friends at one of the local tea rooms, such as at Mistley Quay, or further afield, enjoy some shopping and indulge your appetite with a diverse food and drink culture along the Ipswich Waterfront or in the historic market town of Colchester. For some family fun there’s an excellent range of activities to keep children of all ages entertained, including Jimmy’s Farm, National Trust Flatford Mill or Alton Water Sports Centre all within a 15 minute drive.
Getting out and about
8 minutes from junction 31 of the A12, Stour View is perfect for commuting and is ideally located approximately 10 miles from both Colchester, Essex and Ipswich, Suffolk. Travel links are excellent including the convenience of Manningtree train station just over 1 mile away, taking you direct to London Liverpool Street in little over 1 hour. Your nearest bus stop is just outside the development on Brooklands Road with the no. 92 bus running to Ipswich about every hour.
