There’s a strong community spirit within Haverhill, ideal if you’re looking to make new friends, socialise or keep active. You’ll find a wealth of clubs and leisure activities in the town and surrounding villages. From sports teams, dance and music clubs, to the flower club and baby & toddler group, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

The homes on this modern development have been thoughtfully designed with a mixture of wooden facades, brick and render. The green space to the west will be retained and attenuation pond will ensure good drainage for residents whilst offering a green space for wildlife to flourish. New footpath routes will link to the wider area.

Green spaces

You’ll find a parcel of green space opposite the development and land on the west of the development will provide public open space for new and existing residents. Footpaths to the north of the development allow you to enjoy the neighbouring countryside. Three play areas are on your doorstep too, the closest only a 4 minute walk, offering a safe space for children to enjoy the outdoors.

About Haverhill

Haverhill is a Suffolk market town ideally placed next to the borders of Essex and Cambridgeshire, with excellent travel links. Hosting a thriving market twice weekly, many residents shop locally. Glimpses of medieval buildings can still be seen in Hamlet Road, but the town is rapidly developing and modernising, with attractive public sculptures in the pedestrianised main street.

On your doorstep

Your nearest shop is B&B Convenience store, only a 9 minute walk from your doorstep. Alternatively, there are 4 supermarkets in Haverhill, the closest just a 4 minute drive. You’ll also find doctors surgeries, a number of takeaway options and The Flying Shuttle pub close by. Schooling is great with a wide range of options available at pre-school, primary and secondary.

Enjoying life at Orchid Grove

With a variety of high street shops, bars, pubs and restaurants in the town centre only 1 mile away, there’s always something to see and do here. When it comes to keeping fit, you’ll be spoilt for choice with nearby Haverhill Leisure Centre. If you’d prefer something more leisurely, you can take in a film or keep the children entertained at The Zone play world.

Getting out and about

Orchid Grove is ideally suited for commuters because the beautiful city of Cambridge is only 18 miles away. The A11 and M11 are 11 and 14 miles away respectively, which offers easy access north and south, including Bishop’s Stortford and Stansted Airport. Whittlesford Parkway train station is just a 22 minute drive with direct links to London Liverpool Street in just over 1 hour. Your nearest bus stop is on Howe Road with buses every hour into Cambridge.

Development Layout

A home is more than just a house, it’s also about the community that surrounds it. And that’s why we’re invested in building communities that support local businesses, provide much needed facilities for the area and bring people together.

To support the growing community in Haverhill, we’ll be contributing £395,004 towards local early years, secondary schools and sixth forms as part of our planning obligations for Orchid Grove. We’re also providing public open space and footpaths and a library and NHS contribution. Alongside this, our contribution to West Suffolk Council will help to improve the local infrastructure.
