About Stowmarket

Stowmarket is a small and thriving market town just a stone’s throw away from the A14, situated between Bury St Edmunds to the west and Ipswich to the east. It lies on the River Gipping and is home to the beautiful Church of St Peter and St Mary, the medieval heart of Stowmarket. You’ll also find historic Milton House and The John Peel Centre for Creative Arts, a tribute to the much loved broadcaster who lived in neighbouring Great Finborough.

On your doorstep

There are three supermarkets for you to choose from in Stowmarket for your weekly shop. You’ll also find StowHealth doctors surgery, a veterinary practice and Mid Suffolk Leisure Centre less than 1 mile away, with a swimming pool, climbing wall and play world. You’ll be spoilt for choice for gyms which are all within a 5 minute drive. Schooling options are excellent with a wide range available at pre-school, primary and secondary level within a 3 mile radius.

Enjoying life at Northfield View

Enjoy some shopping in the town centre with a variety of shops and the twice-weekly street market to show your support locally, or visit nearby Bury St Edmunds to keep the children entertained with an excellent range of activities. There’s always something to see and do here, with cafes, pubs and restaurants, and you can take in a film at The Regal or enjoy comedy and music at The John Peel Centre for Creative Arts.

Getting out and about

Just 3 minutes from junction 49 of the A14, Northfield View is a commuter’s paradise. The A140 and the A12 are easily accessible too, opening up travel to Norfolk and Essex. The nearby train station takes you directly into London Liverpool Street in less than 1 hour 30 minutes or Norwich in only 35 minutes. Your nearest bus stop is on the development at Newbolt Close with regular buses into Ipswich or catch a bus into Bury St Edmunds at nearby Narey’s Garden Centre
