A couple from Birmingham are preparing to move into their first home at our development, The Hazelwells, in the up and coming suburb of Stirchley.

Taylah Catlow, 24, and her partner, Alex Mcnamee, 28, were able to use the Government backed Help to Buy scheme to secure the spacious three-bedroom Benford with a 5% deposit.

Having previously rented a flat in the city centre, the couple were keen to move out of the city and have a house and garden of their own.

Commenting on their experience, Taylah said: “The Help to Buy scheme worked really well for us as we struggled to save for a full deposit whilst we were renting, so it helped that we only had to save 5%. We’d definitely recommend the scheme to other first time buyers looking to buy a new build home.”

Whilst the couple wanted a location that wasn’t so central, they knew they needed somewhere with close links to community amenities which our development was able to deliver. Bournville Train Station is nearby to the development which is great for both Taylah and Alex who will use the train commute to work in the city. Stirchley is also fast becoming a well-known spot for its support of independent businesses and a range of good schools making the development an ideal location for families as well as couples.

To help the couple in their decision making, they spoke to friends and family who had previously bought a Taylor Wimpey home and explained that the feedback they received was really positive.

Taylah said: “Alex and I have literally only heard good things about Taylor Wimpey and this was only reaffirmed when we spoke with friends and family who had also bought a home with the housebuilder. We’ve grown up living in new builds as we find it’s easier living-wise, hence why Taylor Wimpey’s homes are ideal.”

Alex added: “We were split between The Benford and a home in another development which was a two and a half storey property, but after doing our homework on the location, prices and the overall development and community, we were ultimately sold on The Benford. We could really picture ourselves in the home and I think when you start thinking like that, you know you’ve found the one!”
