Saving for a house can seem like a long ordeal and having to put up with parents in the meantime isn’t always fun. It comes as no surprise that Stephanie Higgins, 27 and her partner Matthew Harrison, 33 were over the moon when the Government-backed Help to Buy scheme allowed them to fast track the process and move into their dream first home at our Catesby View development using a 5% deposit.

The couple, who were previously living with parents in Wombourne and Kingswinford whilst saving up for a deposit, moved into their four-bedroom Eskdale in December 2019. Commenting on their buying experience with us, Stephanie said: 

“As soon as we viewed the Eskdale at Catesby View, we knew it was perfect for us. We loved the fact that we were able to customise our new home and choose our kitchen cupboards, appliances, worktops and flooring. The open-plan kitchen and dining area was massively appealing because we love to have our family and friends over. We were also impressed with how big the bedrooms and garden are - it’s everything we had hoped for and more.”

Matthew, Stephanie’s partner, added: “Our friends had bought a Taylor Wimpey home and had recommended it to us. We then visited the showhomes and the offices at a local site and the sales staff were so welcoming and helpful. The Sales Executive, Chloe, was extremely informative - it made a huge impact on our purchasing process.”

Since the couple have moved to the development, they have noticed a strong sense of community forming and are particularly impressed with our efforts to introduce eco friendly ways of living. Stephanie said:

“It’s also lovely to see that Taylor Wimpey are planting trees and plants for the residents and introducing charging points for electric cars. We also like the train which is being built at the entrance of the development. It pays homage to the old site location, the Brickworks and it’s a great way to explain to people where we live.”
