“I like that Kiln Walk is small, well-maintained and quiet. A major selling point for us is that the development is tucked away and quite close to the nature reserve, so you wouldn’t know it’s here if you were passing down the main road. However it’s not too far from the surrounding areas. Our commute will be under 30 minutes and we’re close to plenty of amenities like the Co-op down the road, as well as the local pubs and takeaways.
“The sales team have always been on hand if we needed help. We received a home pack with lots of information on the process and what to expect, so as first-time buyers we felt reassured during each step.
“We wanted a new-build house because Ben and I did not want to carry out any renovation work ourselves. Before moving in with my parents, we were renting a flat but found it difficult due to being restricted over what we could do with the décor.
“I’ve really enjoyed selecting a choice of kitchen units and bathroom tiles from the interior Options range. Personalising our home is really important to me as I’m passionate about interiors – I even have my own blog about it so I’m excited to post content showcasing our gorgeous new home at Kiln Walk!”

Local contribution
As part of the new residential proposals, four affordable homes will be provided.
Furthermore, contributions to the local community will be made in the form of 'Community Infrastructure Levy' (CIL) contributions, an offsite affordable housing contribution of circa £44,000, and a Chichester Harbour SPA Recreation Disturbance Mitigation Contribution.
The CIL contributions are based on the quantum of development approved, which equates to a contribution of approximately £132,000.

Donation to movie night helps save village hall

A film screening to raise much-needed funds for a village hall in Hambrook, West Sussex, has gained a helping hand from us.
Our Southern Counties team made a welcome donation to the village hall’s Cinema Event, which took place on Saturday 29th July.
The special screening, organised by the village hall committee and the local film society, aimed to raise essential funds for restoring the building’s roof, which is in desperate need of insulation.
Steve Tanner, Chairman of Chidham and Hambrook Village Hall, explains: “We’ve already replaced the old tables, chairs and windows and installed a new semi-commercial kitchen, new toilets, and an extension with a wheel chair lift to allow disabled access to the building. Now we are focusing on getting the roof fixed and we estimate that the total cost of all repairs will be around £70,000.
“The Cinema Event therefore was a big part of our new drive to refurbish the hall. The evening was very well supported and, as ever, the film society did a great job in choosing films that were very popular with the audience.
“We have received support for the refurbishment from a number of groups and organisations who use the hall for meetings, which include toddler groups, the Women’s Institute and the film society. Pinewood Nursing Home have also offered their help, and in return we will be giving a special screening at the home for the residents.
“I would like to say a big thank you to Taylor Wimpey for their support. Their new Kiln Walk site has helped to save the village hall from dying and we hope that the residents at the development will get involved with what goes on at the building.”
