We snap to it - with support for campaign to get kids walking


We’re encouraging families in Inverurie to pull on their walking shoes and leave the car at home for the journey to school this autumn.
We supported Walk to School Month, which takes place every October and asks parents to walk their children to school – with the aim of promoting healthier lifestyles and reducing the number of cars on the road. 
To help keep youngsters safe on the way, especially in the darker autumn and winter months, we have supplied around 450 high-visibility snap bands to Kellands Primary School for its pupils to wear. The donation is part of a campaign that will see more than 13,000 snap bands provided to children across the country.







We return to Market Place Primary School in Inverurie


As work continues on the construction of our new homes at Garioch View development off Oldmeldrum Road in Inverurie, Aberdeenshire, members of the team returned to Market Place Primary School to give the primary one pupils some reminders about health and safety.  As the youngest members of the local school, the primary ones had missed out on our last visit.  However the team were more than happy to return to promote the dangers associated with playing near a construction site, and to raise awareness of the childrens' need to be extra vigilant as the construction of our 88 new homes continues.

Being proactive with local schools has proven an effective deterrent in the past as Martyn Campbell, Production Director explains:  “Health and safety in and around our construction areas is of vital importance to Taylor Wimpey, and taking this type of proactive approach with local schools allows us to reinforce just how important it is for children to stay away from building sites.
