Wallyford Gala celebrations find a home at Almond Park

One of the family homes at our Almond Park development in Musselburgh was looking rather special as its home to Eilidh Nicoll, aged 8, who was picked to be a flower girl at this year’s Wallyford Children’s Gala Day, which was held in the village on Saturday 1 June.

The family have recently moved to our Almond Park development in nearby Musselburgh, and new friends and neighbours helped to transform the Nicoll family home into a Woodland Wonderland as part of the local gala day tradition where the gala day principals decorate their home. Eilidh’s mum, Kaye Nicoll adds: “We’re so excited that Eilidh was picked to play a part of the gala day.  Our friends and neighbours at the development helped us so much to transform the outside of our house, and we would like to thank Taylor Wimpey for their donation to the Wallyford Children’s Gala Day, which has helped hugely to boost their funds.

“Eilidh is obsessed with fairies so we developed a woodland theme that even incorporates a mini fairy garden as part of our design - from meters of flower bunting to toadstools and flowers on the drive – I hope we’ve added a splash of colour and sense of community to the wider development.”

Karen Armstrong, Sales and Marketing Director said: “We were absolutely thrilled to learn that Eilidh was picked to take part in the local Wallyford Gala Day celebrations, and we were excited to see the transformation of one of our homes into such a fantastic design.

“We build more than just homes, we love to be part of the local communities in which we build and it’s been our pleasure to be able to help Wallyford Children’s Gala Day with a small funding donation.”

Musselburgh Youngstars score strip sponsorship

As part of our ongoing commitment to working in partnership with local communities, we have recently donated £700 to Musselburgh Youngstars Football Club in East Lothian.  The donation has provided new strips for the young team.

Commenting on the support it has received from us, Stuart Fyfe, Coach from Musselburgh Youngstars said: “We are thrilled to receive this support from Taylor Wimpey East Scotland and we are grateful for their continued support for initiatives like ours in the local community. I would like to say a huge thank you to the team.”

Karen Armstrong, Sales and Marketing Director said: “We are delighted to be supporting this young local community football club with a donation towards their new strips, and we were really proud to hear that the children had the opportunity to show-off their new strips at their local Festival of Football, which was held in Musselburgh on 25 August.

“The work we do is a lot more than just building high-quality homes. Being able to work with local community groups and organisations that surround our developments means a great deal to us.  We hope that our involvement with Musselburgh Youngstars Football Club will bring the team lots of luck in future matches.”

Our donation to Musselburgh Youngstars is one of the many contributions being made by us towards community facilities and infrastructure in the wider area.

Our Musselburgh Site Manager wins national housebuilding award

Danny McNee_NHBC_2018

Danny McNee, Site Manager at Almond Park said: “I’m delighted to have won a Quality Award. It’s a fantastic honour, not just for me, but the whole team at Almond Park. They all work incredibly hard and take great pride in ensuring that the homes we build are completed to the highest possible standards.”

Our site manager Danny McNee has scooped his third NHBC Pride in the Job Award recognising his dedication to building high-quality new homes for our customers. Congratulations to Danny and his on-site team.

We help St.Columba's Hospice out with £1000 donation

We have awarded St Columba’s Hospice in Edinburgh with a £1,000 donation and the Trussell Trust Food Bank in Dunfermline with £500 following the conclusion of our “Built for the community” campaign in the east of Scotland.

Our campaign encouraged residents from across the east of Scotland to vote for their chosen causes, and St Columba’s Hospice was crowned the winner after receiving the most votes from the local community.  Voting was also very high for the Trussell Trust Food Bank in Dunfermline and the team from Taylor Wimpey East Scotland awarded them a runners-up donation of £500.

St Columba's Hospice in Edinburgh provides specialist palliative care and support to patients and their families across Edinburgh and the Lothians. This assistance has a huge impact on the lives of so many people, and Taylor Wimpey East Scotland’s donation will contribute to this valuable support.
