    Our Eggstravaganza campaign helps the Trussell Trust in Dunfermline!

    Easter Eggs

     

     A charity which works to tackle poverty in Dunfermline will be able to spread a little Easter cheer, thanks to a generous donation by Taylor Wimpey East Scotland.

    The Trussell Trust runs a network of over 400 foodbanks, giving emergency food and support to people in crisis across the UK, where thirteen million people live below the poverty line. In the last year (2015/2016) in Scotland they gave 133,726 three day emergency food supplies to people in crisis.

    Jonathan Astill, Project Manager at The Trussell Trust Foodbank in Dunfermline, says: “We are very grateful to Taylor Wimpey East Scotland for this kind donation.

    “It’s great to be able to provide Easter eggs for those using our service and we think they’ll really appreciate this gesture.”

     

     

    Long distance love affair gets first time buyers onto the property ladder!

    When Rachael and her husband Paul affectionately known as ‘Skip’ were looking for their first step onto the property ladder a surprise love affair with our development at Masterton Gate in Dunfermline provided the perfect place for the couple and their daughter Tabitha to call home.

    On their first visit to the development that weekend the couple were shown the choice of new homes available and they fell in love with the three bedroom Carlyle home and also its location on the development.

    Everything just clicked into place as Rachael adds: “Anne Marie our sales executive was just so welcoming and explained everything to us really clearly and it just felt right.  We knew that we’d found the place that we wanted to settle down in.

    “The house layout was ideal for us, it’s in a great position in the development and the team at Taylor Wimpey has just made the whole experience fantastic.  From start to finish we’ve had first class service and since moving in just a few weeks’ ago this really does feel like home.

    Help to Buy (Scotland)

    The Cabinet Secretary for Social Justice, Communities and Pensioners’ Rights, Mr Neil, launched the Help to Buy (Scotland) scheme on 21 January 2016.

    You'll need to contribute a minimum 85% of the purchase price of a home through a combination of a mortgage and your deposit. You'll be able to obtain assistance from the Scottish Government of up to a maximum of 15% of the purchase price. The Scottish Government equity stake will be by way of shared equity agreement and second-ranking.

    The maximum prices for the Help to Buy properties are as follows:

    • For financial year 2017/18 for transactions completing up to 31 March 2018, the threshold price is £200,000;
    • For financial year 2018/19 for transactions completing up to 31 March 2019, the threshold price is £175,000;
