Development naming competition winners revealed in Kilwinning

As part of a local community engagement project, our Willow Gardens in Kilwinning was named following a challenge earlier this year for school children at nearby Abbey Primary School to create a name for the development that reflected the character of the local area.

The winners of the competition - Kaitlyn Wilson now in P6/7 and Lewis Elliot now in 1st year at Kilwinning Academy - revealed the first signage for Willow Gardens where pre-construction is well underway.

Local children’s football team scores funding boost

We have shown our support for local community football in Kilwinning by becoming the shirt sponsor for Kilwinning Rangers 2009  – an under 12’s team that is part of a local community football club for boys and girls who play in the local North Ayrshire Soccer Association (NASA) league.

Head Coach, Paul Corrigan said: “We’re thrilled to have received this donation from Taylor Wimpey West Scotland and we are grateful for their support of initiatives like ours in the local community.”

First Home Fund

The Scottish Government backed First Home Fund*, which is open to first-time buyers in Scotland to purchase a property is available here on selected homes. You will need just a 5% deposit to buy your new home (subject to individual lender requirements) and your mortgage must be at least 25% of the purchase price.

The Scottish Government will contribute a maximum of 49% equity stake based on the property valuation or purchase price, whichever is lower, up to a maximum of £25,000. With the First Home Fund, you will own the property outright with the Scottish Government having an equity stake in your home.

Due to the success of this first pilot scheme, the Scottish Government has confirmed the First Home Fund will reopen in April 2021 for new home purchases completing from 1st April 2021 until 31st March 2022. If you are looking to move using the new scheme in 2021, you can still reserve a new home now, subject to your application to the new fund being approved.

*Terms and Conditions apply to the First Home Fund. For more information and guidance on applying for the First Home Fund, please visit:https://www.gov.scot/policies/homeowners/first-home-fund/. For details on how it could work for you visit https://www.taylorwimpey.co.uk/ways-to-buy/first-home-fund .
