COUPLE SECURE THEIR DREAM FAMILY HOME AFTER CAMPING OUT IN CHAPELHALL
When we launched our development at Juniper Grove in Chapelhall in January earlier this year, we were surprised to find that our first buyers wanted a particular home so badly that they were prepared to camp out overnight to get it.
Aimee and Stephen Cameron waited from Friday afternoon until Saturday morning to reserve a four bedroom detached Fairbairn. The couple are delighted they took the plunge at Juniper Grove as Aimee (aged 26) explains: “We had been keeping an eye out for developments in the Chapelhall area, and when we saw that Taylor Wimpey was planning to launch we knew that was where we wanted to buy. This area is handy for our friends and families and it’s an ideal location for both of us to easily get to work. I’m an A&E nurse at a local hospital and Stephen is a taxi-driver so we knew this was the best place for us to buy.
“We did lots of research and we chatted to the sales executives Susan and Megan about the Help to Buy Scheme before the homes were releases for sale so we knew which properties we could afford. Originally, we thought we would go for a three bedroom semi-detached, but when we chatted to the IFA we realised that we could afford a four bedroom detached. We fell in love with the layout of the Fairbairn house but there aren’t many of those types of house at the development. We knew there would be one in the first few houses to be released for sale, so we camped out to make sure we got it. Although it was really cold to camp out in January, it was really worth it. We absolutely love our house.”
The couple moved in just a few months ago and they’re delighted with their first new home together, and how easy the whole process was as Stephen (aged 30) adds: “We had never bought a new house before, and we felt as though we didn’t really have a clue about what to do. But the team at Taylor Wimpey were just so helpful and really put us at ease and made everything stress-free. In fact, we just couldn’t believe how it all happened so easily.
“The Help to Buy (Scotland) Scheme was also brilliant and it’s allowed us to buy a bigger home than we’d thought possible, which turns out to be ideal as Aimee is pregnant with twins so we’ll be filling the rooms in this family home a bit sooner than we had first thought. But it’s a really exciting time for us, and we’re looking forward to family life in our new home.”
Audrey Ross, Sales and Marketing Director comments: “It makes us all really proud when we hear about our customer’s journey with us and the positive part that we often play in such a key decision within their life. It’s so important to us that we deliver a great service to young couples like Aimee and Stephen to make sure they aren’t daunted by the process of buying a new home, and equally offer a stress-free move and advice to people who are already on the ladder but looking to make their next move.
“We build new homes and communities that people want to live in, and Juniper Grove is our tenth and final development in Chapelhall. We’re confident that it will prove to be as popular as our previous developments in the local area, and we’d urge buyers who are thinking about a move or their first step onto the property ladder to pop along to the development to see how we might be able to help.”
We are delighted to announce the Aimee and Stephen recently welcomed two healthy baby girls, Afton and Ellis.
We give primary school pupils get a lesson at our Juniper Grove development in Chapelhall
Children from a primary school in Chapelhall have been given an exciting opportunity to see the new homes that are under construction at our Juniper Grove development as part of their ‘Houses and Homes’ project in school.
Youngsters from the Primary 3 class from Chapelhall Primary School explored our development to learn about the construction of a new home; saw various stages of construction and took the opportunity to visit the show home.
Our the team in Chapelhall were more than happy to facilitate the visit as James Scott, Assistant Site Manager at Juniper Grove adds: “We were more than delighted to be able to welcome the children from Chapelhall Primary School for an insight into the build process of a Taylor Wimpey home.
“The children have been learning about new homes and how they are built, so this was a really good opportunity for them to learn about some of the process that it takes to build a new home and see some construction activity at the development. We hope that we have also inspired a few of the youngsters to consider the housebuilding industry in the future. “
Whilst the children were at the development, the team took the opportunity to remind the children never to play near a building site and that a school visit was extra-special because normally there are no children allowed near any construction. Never playing near a construction site is a message that Taylor Wimpey is keen to reinforce to the wider local community – especially ahead of the summer school holiday.
Class teacher Alison Woodley, said: “Our children thoroughly enjoyed their visit to Taylor Wimpey’s Juniper Grove, asking lots of questions and learning about the building process. They really enjoyed seeing the different stages that it takes to build a new house in real-life, and we know they absolutely loved the show home.”
