RNLI Receives Our Support in Troon

We have teamed up with the Royal National Lifeboat Institution and can confirm that we will donate £25 for each new home sold and legally completed at our new developments in Troon – Princess Gate and Queen's Court. 

In total, a grand sum of £5,650 will be paid to the RNLI, and this substantial donation will go directly to the local RNLI Troon Lifeboat Station. 

The donation signals a long-term relationship between our team in Troon and the RNLI with the money contributing towards the amazing life-saving services the RNLI Troon Lifeboat Station provides.  The charity aims to use volunteers wherever possible and with voluntary donations, this donation contributes to funds which are necessary to make this achievable and will help with the RNLI’s overall aim to keep lives safe at sea. 

The RNLI has a vital role within the community of Troon, and the local lifeboat station covers the lower Firth of Clyde with its two lifeboats.  The crew members are dedicated to keeping the local community safe and they have received three RNLI medals for gallantary. 

Commenting on the support that it has received, Urda Cotter from the RNLI said: “We are extremely grateful for the support that we have received from Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, and we can’t thank them enough for their generous donation. This money will be put to work locally to help us achieve the overall aim of our service to the local community.  On behalf of everyone at RNLI, I would like to say a huge thank you.”

Troon Thistle YFC Scores New Strips With Our Donation

As part of our ongoing commitment to working in partnership with local communities, we have recently donated £500 to 2011’s Troon Thistle YFC in Troon.  The money has paid for 21 new strips for the young team who play locally across the area.

The 2011’s Troon Thistle FC is a new start-up team that trains and plays in the local Troon area, and our donation marks a key milestone as plans to launch our developments of new homes at Princess Gate and Queen’s Court in Troon look set for August this year.

Commenting on the support it has received from Taylor Wimpey, Darren Sneddon from 2011’s Troon Thistle YFC said: “We are extremely grateful for the support that we have received from Taylor Wimpey and we can’t thank them enough for their generous donation.  This is a new team and this donation has helped us to provide 21 children with a new team strip, and to achieve our goal of officially setting up the team. On behalf of everyone at 2011’s Troon Thistle YFC, I would like to say a huge thank you to the team at Taylor Wimpey.”

Watch your step! We teach children at Struthers Primary School about safety

Recently, Site Manager, Scott McNulty, from our local Princess Gate development, headed back to school to teach children from Struthers Primary School in Troon about the importance of health and safety on a building site.

Our Site Health & Safety Consultant Ian Holden led the presentation for P1-P7 children at the local primary school, teaching the children about safety warning signs, building site machinery, protective clothing and more. The presentation included the opportunity for children to try on some of the safety and protective clothing that our construction staff wear.

Commenting on the visit, Scott McNulty, Site Manager said: “It was great to see the children of Struthers Primary School engage with our presentation, and I was delighted to see that many of them had an interest in finding out how we build our new homes. At Taylor Wimpey, we are committed to working closely with the local communities that we build in, so it is vital that we inform children in schools around our developments about the risks to look out for around our construction sites.”

Eilidh McBean, Depute head teacher at Struthers Primary School said: “It’s good to see a company like Taylor Wimpey taking the time to talk to children about something that really matters. Ian and Scott did a great job of keeping the children engaged with their interactive presentation, whilst teaching them about the importance of health and safety on a building site. I’d like to thank them both on behalf of everyone at Struthers Primary School for taking the time to teach the children about such an important subject.”
