    Taylor Wimpey helps couple secure their first home in Barry with Help to Buy

    HJ-TW-BARRY-EX9I3296Robyn Hewings, and her partner Samuel Preston, both 27, were over the moon when their hunt for their first home together led them to a spacious three-bedroom house at Taylor Wimpey’s Latitude at The Quays development, which sits on the doorstep of the stunning seaside town of Barry.

    The couple, who were previously living with their parents, in Barry and Radyr, Cardiff whilst saving up for a deposit, were excited to finally get a place of their own. After visiting many other properties and developments, Robyn and Samuel fell in love with the three-bedroom Easedale housetype at Taylor Wimpey’s Latitude at The Quays development.

    Commenting on their buying experience with Taylor Wimpey, Robyn said: “As soon as we saw the Easedale house type, we knew it was absolutely perfect for us. The open plan kitchen/dining area with French doors, the large staircase and the spacious hallway, as well as the stunning bay window in the living room, was everything we had hoped for and more. The development itself is also fantastic. There’s so many local shops, restaurants, and leisure facilities right on our doorstep as well as the beach, it's perfect for us.”

    After discussing their options with the sales team, the couple were able to utilise the Government backed Help to Buy scheme to move into their dream home. Samuel said: “When we visited the sales office at Latitude at the Quays we were greeted with a warm welcome and the staff talked us through all of the options available to us. Before we visited the development we didn’t think that we would be able to afford a new build home. As soon as we discovered that we could afford the Easedale we reserved our dream home there and then.”

    The couple got the keys to their new home in June and have adored the house ever since which Robyn has demonstrated by creating an Instagram account to showcase images of their Easedale: @at_home_with_robynfaye.

    Robyn added: “We were very careful in choosing our developer and did a lot of research prior to viewing any homes. Buying with Taylor Wimpey was an absolute dream, we honestly couldn’t have asked for more. We were always kept in the loop and made aware of any changes, and overall it was just such an exciting time for us from choosing our kitchen and bathrooms in the options meeting, to meeting the site manager and seeing the build of our home progressing at every stage.”
