2015 was once again a very successful year for our site managers as 63 of them were recognised with a Pride in the Job Quality Award and 20 were awarded a Seal of Excellence. Three of our site managers were also named Regional Winners and went head-to-head against the industry’s top site managers in the Supreme Awards, hosted earlier in January.
Andy Shaw, from our Diglis Water development in Worcester, is dedicated to building high-quality homes for new homebuyers and providing excellent customer service to all of his customers. His dedication to the Company and building top quality homes has also been rewarded internally, with a recent promotion to Production Manager at our Midlands business. It is not the first time Andy has been in the awards spotlight – he earned a Quality Award last year for his sterling work at Diglis Water and went on to succeed in the next stages of the competition, winning a highly-coveted Seal of Excellence Award. He was also crowned the Regional Winner for the NHBC’s Multi-Storey category and, impressively, was then named a runner-up in the national finals. Andy also won a Quality Award in 2013. Midland’s Managing Director Roger Northam commented: “I’d like to congratulate Andy for winning another set of accolades at these prestigious industry awards – his success is thoroughly deserved and is a true recognition of all the hard.
Our North East Site Manager, Rob Mitchell, has once again delivered excellent performance in the Pride in the Job awards, scooping a Regional Award for the second year in a row. Rob, who was the youngest site manager to achieve a Quality Award for our North East BU in 2014 was awarded the industry’s top award in recognition of his work on our Clarence Court site in Houghton-Le-Spring. Rob joined the Company as an Assistant Site Manager over 10 years ago and since has progressed through the ranks to Senior Site Manager. North East’s Managing Director John Taylor commented on Rob’s award: “I’m very pleased Rob is being recognised for his hard work at our Clarence Courtdevelopment. His attention to detail and leadership skills are second to none, ensuring that the whole team at the development – from apprentices to subcontractors andsuppliers – are workinghard to deliver the highest quality homes for our homebuyers.”
Site Manager Steve Cole, from our NR1 development in Norwich, was named a regional champion for the third year in a row, adding another set of awards to his trophy cabinet. Steve, who was also recently promoted, is now enjoying the challenges of his new role as Production Manager. In the Pride in the Job awards, Steve beat off stiff competition from around 15,000 other site managers to be honoured with NHBC’s highly sought after Regional Award. He has more than 25 years of housebuilding experience behind him, and joined the Company as a trainee site manager back in 1999. Steve Rolt, East Anglia’s Managing Director, commented: “We are very proud of Steve’s achievements and are very keen to make the most of his skills and dedication here at the BU in his new role as our Production Manager. We are committed tomaintaining the highest levels of quality and customer service and this has ensured that we continue to be an NHBC award-winning housebuilder year after year.”
