When Sophie Summers was made responsible for sales at the new Waterton Place development in Bridgend, she was, at 23, one of Taylor Wimpey’s youngest Sales Executives.
But Sophie took it all in her stride — in fact, she made an incredible 15 sales in the first five months after the development’s launch, really getting her career off to a flying start.
She says: “I’m really starting to feel there’s a community coming together at Waterton Place – we have a quite a range of customers, with some older clients who are downsizing and want to be close to shops and facilities, as well as quite a few first-time buyers starting out on the ladder and a few investors. It’s a nice mix.”
Training for success
Sophie was put in charge at Waterton Place after graduating from the company’s Sales Academy training scheme, and she says the in-depth training she’s received laid the foundations for her success.
“Taylor Wimpey is a brilliant company to work for as I had eight months of training before I even started working at a development as part of the Sales Academy programme,” she explains.
“It’s so rewarding to be able to help customers from the moment they walk into the Sales Centre to the moment they move into their new home.
“Waterton Place is my first development on my own, but the training I’ve had has given me the confidence I need. It’s a very independent job, but there’s a good support network around me.”
The Taylor Wimpey Sales Academy consists of a unique six month training programme that helps our Sales Executives to become well-rounded sales professionals. If you'd like to follow in Sophie's footsteps, go to our Careers page for more information.
