WS - NHBC PITJ Finale 2017-254 Paul Cunningham - WEB

Our West Scotland business unit is celebrating this week following the announcement that Paul Cunningham, Site Manager at our Dargavel Village North development in Bishopton, has scooped runner-up in the Large Builder category at this year’s NHBC Pride in the Job 2016 Supreme Awards in London!

Recognised as the ‘Oscars of the Housebuilding Industry’, this award acknowledges Paul as one of the best Site Managers in the UK for 2016, and follows an incredible three wins of the Scottish regional title in 2016, 2014 and 2012.

Pride in the Job is the only UK-wide awards scheme that recognises the significant contribution of Site Managers who achieve the highest standards in new home construction.

The scheme has been instrumental in raising the build quality of new homes in the UK for over three decades. The regional events take place each year in the autumn, while the Supreme Awards gala final are then held in London in January.

Award-winning Paul, from Kilmarnock, started his career with Taylor Wimpey 18 years ago as an Assistant Site Manager, and he has worked his way steadily through the ranks to enjoy the last 12 years as a Senior Site Manager with the company.

Enthusiasm and drive for perfection continue to play a key part in Paul’s success in the NHBC Pride in the Job Awards, as he explains: “I’m absolutely thrilled to have won this award – it’s quite incredible to be named as runner-up to the UK’s Supreme champion after getting to this final stage on two previous occasions. On behalf of the whole team at Dargavel Village North, I’m just delighted.

“This is a really special award for me, and to be recognised and acknowledged by the industry at a UK level is a great honour.

“But this is also a team effort, so I’m really delighted for every member of the team at Dargavel Village. Everyone has worked so hard to make achieving this award possible, while also taking great pride in making sure that the homes we build are completed to the highest possible standards for our customers.”

Winning runner-up in the UK Supreme Awards, the top Scottish Award, two Seal of Excellence Awards and five Pride in the Job Awards completes an incredible achievement for our West Scotland team in 2016.

It also demonstrates an unwavering commitment to deliver exceptional new homes for our customers as Willie Burns, Managing Director for Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, adds: “Paul’s success at the NHBC Supreme Awards in London completes an exceptional year for the West Scotland team in the 2016 awards.
