We’d like to congratulate our exceptional Site Manager Paul Cunningham who has staked a claim to become one of the best house-builders in the UK, after he was named a Scottish champion in the NHBC’s 34th annual Pride in the Job Awards.
Selected from around 15,000 Site Managers across the UK, Paul scooped the award for the Large Builder Category for his Dargavel Village site in Bishopton, and has since been shortlisted for the competition’s Supreme Gala Final in January where the national champions will be announced.
NHBC is the UK’s leading new-home warranty provider. NHBC Director for Scotland, Malcolm MacLeod, congratulated Paul on his win, saying: “The NHBC Pride in the Job Awards are the most sought-after accolades in the industry, recognising Site Managers that build high quality homes.
“Site Managers play a critical role in delivering any project, being responsible for overseeing everything that happens on site from start to finish.
“Paul is building some of the very best houses in the UK, demonstrating consistently high standards, and is in the top half a percent of his profession. Anyone buying a home built by one of our winners’ can do so with confidence in its workmanship and quality.”
Speaking about his win, Paul says: “It gives me great pleasure when handing over a good house to a happy family. This is my 10th NHBC Pride in the Job Award in a row, including five Seals of Excellence and now two Regional titles, and every one means as much as the others. I’m always delighted to be recognised as one of Scotland’s top Site Managers.”
Paul has worked in construction for 24 years. He became an Assistant Site Manager in 1998, being promoted to Site Manager in 2002, then to Senior Site Manager in 2004. While working for Taylor Wimpey, he has even found time to build his own house.
