wTWNW - beat builder triathlon

We’re thrilled to announce that our team at Taylor Wimpey North West will be hosting a gruelling ‘Beat the Builder’ charity challenge this June, during which staff and suppliers will endure a 12-hour triathlon in Coniston, the Lake District.

Our regional North West business unit has set an ambitious fundraising target of £25,000 for the North West Ambulance Charity, as well as Derian House Children’s Hospice in Chorley.

Ian Smith, Managing Director at Taylor Wimpey North West, comments: “Derian House and the North West Ambulance Charity are two fantastic local charities and we’re thrilled to be supporting them.

“We do a lot of community work within the areas where we build, but wanted to do something bigger and better than ever before in aid of raising some serious money for these two amazing causes.”

Derian House Children’s Hospice is based in Chorley and provides extensive care and support for over 300 families from across the county, ranging in ages from newborn babies to young adults, each often with a life-limiting or life-threatening illness.

Sophie Saunders, fundraising manager at Derian House Children’s Hospice, says: “The costs associated with providing such specialist care and facilities means our fundraising target this year stands at £3.5million. As a charity receiving minimal statutory funding, we heavily rely on the help of our community and supporters like the team at Taylor Wimpey, so we are extremely grateful to be a part of this exciting event.”

Gillian Edwards, regional fundraiser at North West Ambulance Charity, adds: “Flying 365 days a year, the North West Air Ambulance Charity provides a helicopter emergency medical service to the eight million people of the North West, and the many visitors the area attracts.

“Our service currently costs over £6 million per year to deliver, all of which comes from voluntary donations.”

Ian concludes: “I would like to thank the team and our subcontractors and suppliers who are taking part in the initiative; as well as those who have made a donation. Both charities do some amazing work across the region and we’re delighted to be helping them in their work.”

The Taylor Wimpey North West ‘Beat the Builder’ challenge is scheduled to take place on Saturday 6th June from 6am. To make a donation please visit:
