Our East Midlands business unit provided a cash boost for the successful 2017 Raunds Summer Picnic.
We donated £1,000 towards the event, which was held on Sunday 9th July at Bassfords Recreation Ground in the town. The money went towards sponsoring the headline music act, popular band Pure Genius, as well as providing a magician as part of the children’s entertainment lined up on the day.
As well as the live music, entertainment and a beer tent, visitors – who were invited to bring their own picnics – enjoyed free popcorn and strawberries and cream while soaking up the sun.
The event was organised by Raunds Town Council, and Cllr Helen Howell, Chairman of the Events Committee says: “It was fantastic to see so many people come along and enjoy a great day out at the Raunds Summer Picnic.
“We’d like to say a big thank you to Taylor Wimpey for their kind donation. Gestures like this help us cover the costs of organising and running such an event, and allow us to expand the quality of entertainment available for visitors to enjoy.”
Cllr Nick Beck, Mayor of Raunds, says: “We have a fantastic community spirit in Raunds and it was great to once again see the community coming together for a great afternoon’s entertainment. I’d also like to thank our fantastic local volunteers who make events like this possible.”
Emily Lloyd, Assistant Sales Manager for Taylor Wimpey East Midlands, says: “As a considerate, responsible local housebuilder, we feel it’s very important to contribute to the communities in which we build our new homes, so we were delighted to make this donation to the Raunds Summer Picnic.
“We’re so pleased that everyone had such a lovely time. Our own mascot, Handy Andy, got into the spirit of things and really enjoyed getting on stage to introduce the fabulous headline band, Pure Genius, and he loved their set!”
Our Darcie Park development in Raunds currently offers a selection of three and four-bedroom homes.
